With an enviable location a 400-metre canoe ride from the famed Pont d’Arc stone arch, Camping La Rouvière is a pretty sweet place from where to explore the Ardèche and its spectacular landscape. Oh, and that canoe? You can rent it on site, along with kayaks, so you don’t have to worry about lugging it all the way from home. The site has direct access to a private beach on the Ardèche river; simply unfurl your towel and soak up the view of imposing rocky cliffs just across the water. For active types, there’s much more to do besides canoeing, with several outfits in nearby Vallon-Pont-d’Arc (10 minutes’ drive) arranging climbing and canyoning expeditions, plus mountain-biking and hiking trails through the Réserve Naturelle Nationale des Gorges de l'Ardèche (10 minutes). The site itself is no slouch when it comes to activities, with pétanque and volleyball courts, ping-pong tables, a play area, and kids’ and teens’ clubs. It’s also easy to make new friends here, with evening entertainment ranging from communal dining to weekly dancing soirées. The on-site bakery is the place to find flaky pastries and crispy baguettes for your breakfast, while a grocery store sells local produce, which you can store in a communal freezer. The restaurant serves a range of simple meals. In addition to a well-maintained toilet block with facilities for disabled guests, there are showers, a washing-up area and a launderette, plus charging points for electric cars. And if you arrive by public transport, the owners will be happy to come and pick you up at the bus station.

Great Ardèche river access and staff. Campsite shop's a bonus. Canoe trips and evening fun are big hits. Mind the noise from dogs and neighbours. A few cleanliness and check-in issues, plus closed facilities and no phone signal, were mentioned.

Disliked Le personnel n’est pas toujours agréable. Animation à revoir nous sommes resté 3 nuit sur le camping, sur 3 soirées 2 ont été annulés. L’animateur est souvent alcoolisé le soir et fait tout sauf animé. Les toilettes sont souvent sale, avec coupures d’électricité régulières. Concernant les douches très peu d’eau chaude et une très faible pression. Les bornes pour l’électricité se font rare, nous étions branché sur une rallonge où trois autres emplacements étaient également branchés. Emplacement en plein soleil toute la journée. Aucune communication concernant l’annulation des soirées. Nous nous sommes retrouvé sans soirée et à devoir aller au restaurant. Le remboursement de la soirée paella a également été très compliqué. Le personnel ne voulait pas nous rembourser !!! Sous prétexte que c’était compliqué au niveau de leur caisse et qu’il fallait que l’ont reste un soir de plus.

Cette annulation à été signalée 8 fois par micro plus l'animateur est passé pour le signaler au plus grand nombre
Le DJ à eu un problème de matériel!


De plus nous avons du vous signaler qu'un de vos ami consommé du poppers!!! sur le camping avec beaucoup de bruit le soir très tard au niveau du camping

Pour les sanitaires je laisse les gens intelligents à lire les commentaires précédents

Liked Der Platz ist klein, sehr familiär und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Stellplatz war schön naturbelassen, wenn man einen der Plätze weiter unten bekommt hat man eine tolle Aussicht und kann schnell ans Wasser
Ein absolutes Highlight sind die Foodtrucks, die Abends abwechselnd auf dem Platz stehen und so immer wieder leckeres neues Essen bieten.

Disliked Leider waren fast jeden zweiten Abend Events mit lauter Musik an der Bar, die man wirklich auf dem gesamten Platz hören konnte. Wer dort in der Nähe steht hat es vermutlich sehr laut.
Die Toiletten haben weder Papier noch Brillen, werden zwar regelmäßig gereinigt sind aber sehr schnell wieder schmutzig, das liegt aber vermutlich dann an den Gästen

Liked Großartig, direkt an der Ardèche. Mit Blick auf einen Steilhang. Glasklares Wasser zum Baden. Man hört keine Straßengeräusche. Man kann dort Kajaktouren buchen. Die Mitarbeiter vom Kajakverleih sind sehr freundlich.

Disliked Die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption, die sich auch um die finanziellen Dinge kümmert, kann richtig unfreundlich und narzisstisch werden, wenn sie etwas aus sprachlichen Gründen nicht, oder falsch versteht. Das habe ich leider in mehreren Situationen feststellen müssen.

Local attractions

Grotte Chauvet 2 – Ardèche (15 minutes’ drive) is a state-of-the-art, fully immersive replica of a Palaeolithic cave that’s been closed to the public since its 1994 discovery. Weaving past rock formations, the visitors’ route also takes in dozens of primitive cave paintings of animals, from horses to bears, plus mammoths. Residents at the Parc Animalier des Gorges de l’Ardèche (20 minutes) include wallabies, peacocks and alpacas, plus a number of pettable farmyard animals. Kids can also go on pony rides, stroll among the water sprays in the aquatic park or pan for gold nuggets in the river. On the outskirts of Pierrelatte (40 minutes) is the Lac Pignedoré reservoir, with supervised swimming, a bike trail and a skate park. The vast tropical greenhouse at the nearby Crocodile Farm is home to turtles, lizards and anacondas as well as fearsome crocs.
