What a very fabulous spot for a Var holiday – Camping Caravaning Les Moulières is less than a kilometre from the shores of the Mediterranean, with a peaceful backdrop formed by Les Vieux Salins nature reserve. This family-run French Riviera site has been running since 1969, and it’s easy to see why the place has been such a success: guests get to stay in a seven-acre wooded park, with lots of shade from the trees and scents from the flowers. The small town of La Londe-les-Maures is a couple of kilometres away for handy shops and places to eat, and there’s a good collection of lovely beaches and walking trails nearby to occupy your days (and a fair number of vineyards and wineries, too…). It’s not all about the location, though, as the owners have made great efforts over the years to install a good number of guest facilities – including a multisports court (for games of football, basketball and handball), a pétanque court, an outdoor fitness area, a fitness trail and ping-pong tables. On a more practical front, you’ll also have access to a food shop and a launderette as well as well-equipped bathroom blocks with showers, toilets, accessible facilities and parent-and-baby amenities. Lovely quiet site, plenty of space & shade. Super clean loos. Close to the beach & staff are sound. Shame there's no shop or buzz, and the snack bar was a bit dodgy. A bit of road noise too, and electric isn't cheap.

Liked sehr sauberer Platz, Duschen und Toiletten in erreichbarer Nähe und sehr ordentlich, Stromanschluß, Toilettensäuberung und Trinkwasserbefüllung in unmittelbarer Nähe, der Strand ist ca. 2 km entfernt, Pizzeria auf dem Platz, Bäcker ca. 750 m entfernt, ein sehr schöner Platz mit Bäumen mit Schatten, sehr freundliches Personal, Preis für die Hauptsaison angemessen

Liked The location for the 20 min walk to the beach.
Spacious pitches.
Toilet, shower blocks plenty of them and very modern.
Pretty good cycling routes.

Disliked Drinking water is only located by the main toilet blocks, and it is not very clear what is drinking water.
Recycling bins are on the very far side of the campsite, put them by the washing up next to the general waste bin.

Liked Nous avons passé dix jours merveilleux en famille. Les propriétaires étaient très serviables et toujours souriants. Nous ne parlons pas français, mais ce n'était pas un problème, car toutes nos tentatives de communication ont été couronnées de succès. Les toilettes et les douches sont impeccables. Bravo à la charmante dame qui les a gardées propres et confortables le matin. L'emplacement pour les tentes est immense, avec l'électricité et beaucoup d'ombre pratiquement partout. Chaque emplacement est bordé d'arbres. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons été très satisfaits de notre séjour et nous y retournerons sans hésiter si nous avons l'occasion de revenir dans la région.

We spent ten wonderful days with our family. The owners were very helpful and always smiling. We don't speak French, but that wasn't a problem, as all our attempts at communication were successful. The toilets and showers are spotless. Bravo to the lovely lady who kept them clean and comfortable in the morning. The tent site is huge, with electricity and plenty of shade practically everywhere. Each site is lined with trees. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and will definitely return if we have the opportunity to return to the area.

Liked Dejlig rolig sted med gode plane pladser i god størrelse med masser af skygge. Rene velholdte sanitære faciliteter. Vi fik mulighed for selv at finde den bedste plads for os.

Disliked Elprisen synes høj for kun 6 Amp. Det bør også nævnes at der ikke findes mad på stedet mere.

Liked Les emplacements sont très ombragés et les sanitaires sont très propres.

Disliked Publicité mensongère, il n’y a pas de supérette, pas d’animation. Nous avons choisi ce camping pour ses équipements et ses 4 étoiles. Or il n’en vaut seulement 2. Le camping était presque vide ce qui montre le manque d’animation et d’équipement. Nous sommes déçues quand même de ce camping et avons profité des avantages et équipements du camping d’à côté.

Liked Super Parzellen, saubere Sanitär-Einrichtung, ruhig und abseits des Trubels.
Mit dem Fahrrad in fünf Minuten am Strand, 10 Minuten zum Hafen mit einigen Restaurants.
Parzelle war schattig.

Local attractions

Beaches, beaches, beaches… with a whole lot to choose from nearby, you can hit a different stretch of sand each day. Plage Miramar (10 minutes' walk) is your nearest, with Plage de l’Argentière and Plage Tamaris (both five minutes' drive) not much further beyond. More? Try Plage du Pellegrin or Plage de l'Estagnol (15 minutes). And, if you're in the market for an all-over tan, there’s a naturist beach at Plage Salins (10 minutes). It’s all about the fine sands and turquoise waters at the beaches – but the coastline in between is pretty lovely too, and best explored with a walk along the nine-kilometre coastal path, which also passes vineyards and craggy cliffs. If you’re not content seeing it from above, you can join a scuba or snorkel trip with the local dive centre (five minutes). Another excellent option is to take a boat trip from Port Miramar (five minutes) to the island of Porquerolles, for bike rides between white-sand beaches, or the wilder Port-Cros, a protected nature reserve with some great hiking trails and coves for snorkelling.
