Electric grass pitch

Liked: We liked leaving in the early morning as soon as possible.

Disliked: Reception was dysfunctional with no helpful information. (There may be an organisational problem.) Pitch given was terrible, near an old poorly maintained facility block with flushes and doors not working, water pressure not present and hot water lacking. The pool closes at 7pm, normal for northern France, but pool rules not enforced and footwash entrance empty. Toilets again a travesty of design with contortions required to use. Young insecure man doing various dangerous acrobatic type bombings in pool went unchecked by lifeguard and made use of pool impossible. Route to pool convoluted and unexplained at check-in. Power not discussed, no adapters offered. Pitch uneven. Evening 'entertainment' consisted of very loud music which went on into early hours with no respect for non participants - and of course reception presumably knew this when offering the woman that pitch. In the early morning 'works' started with something like a circular saw cutting stone or similar. Planned extension and use of bar/eatery cancelled of course.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We absolutely loved the site, it was so quiet at night and everyone was respectful. Had a lovely lake you could swim in, fish and just admire the views and the most spectacular sun sets/rises. The swimming pool provided endless hours of fun for my children and husband with the slides. The reception staff were fantastic and polite. There were communal bbqs dotted around for people to use It was only an hours drive from Disney, the commute was simple and easy

Disliked: The Mosquitos are KILLER!!! Between dawn and dusk. The Creperie menu and bar menu was fully in French, the staff didn't speak English or try to understand, we had to do all the translations and hope for the best with Google translate. The pool didn't have a life guard, at point a member of staff was there sitting in the chair but spent rhe whole time looking at his phone, my husband ended up with a bruised and swollen ankle trying to save our son due to some teenagers being impatient and dangerous on the slides and nearly crashing into our 4 year old.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Expansive, meaning plenty of space on pitches. Good swimming pool and slides.

Disliked: 10-15 walk from our pitch to the pool etc; toilets much closer in fairness. Fairly surly staff. Pool was rammed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: My wife and daughter loved the swimming pool (although busy) and swimming in the lake (pretty quiet). Hedges between pitches made it fairly private.

Disliked: Lots of noise way past midnight, I think there was a big group together. Soap dispensers were empty, would be good to either fill them or remove them if not and would have expected toilet paper considering the higher price of the site. Paid for electric hookup and there was none on the pitch provided.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The toilet facilities were clean and well maintained but just never any loo roll so take your own! The lake is beautiful and lovely to swim and paddleboard on and a real asset to the campsite. Mostly very quiet gone 10pm apart from a couple of nights of loud music from the bar but didn't keep us awake at all. Lots of activities for the children to do

Disliked: The biggest downfall were the vast number of mosquitos! We were eaten alive most nights despite using repellant and candles etc. They are particularly bad in the pitches by lake! Not many English speaking staff despite saying it's an English speaking site. The one girl whom spoke English was lovely and very helpful. The pool was fine but a little roudy at times with no lifeguard. The pitches were very very soggy on the days we had rain

Electric grass pitch

Liked: What a campsite, absolutely loved it. The pool area is superb, kept the kids entertained for hours. You could maybe extend the hours at the end of the day. Closing the pool at 7pm is a little early. We camped at the other side of the lake, the swimming in there is lovely, very relaxing. Communal BBQ is a great idea and we took full advantage. Things to note: * If you are coming from the UK you need an adapter for the electric hook up * Horse flies are savage, take some insect repellent. We will definitely be returning, lovely place. Cheers

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The park is nice with lots to offer for children and adults, the lake and swimming pool are great and the kids loved swimming in both, pitches are big and not limited. The on site restaurant serves some very nice food. Mini golf was good fun. BBQs on site for everyone to use. And a shady shack for when the sun gets a bit too much. Level pitches and well kept area. Fresh bread and croissants can be ordered daily at reception which was a nice touch. And a very small shop for milk, beer, charcoal and water don’t rely on this for your first shop when you arrive there isn’t a lot there but it’s nice to have a few things available. Main pool is great and was the highlight of the holiday for the kids. Loverly view over the lake and great for star gazing

Disliked: If you have a problem with mosquitoes be aware because there are a lot around this is not something the site can do anything about but it’s something to be aware of. It could do with another toilet block at the main pitch area because these get very busy. Toilets and showers could be cleaned a bit more often but iv seen a lot worse. The music from the pool bar some nights is very very loud and could be heard clearly at the pitch area it didn’t bother us but if you where pitched lower down the site this would of been a bit of a pain if you have kids this goes on very late.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The campsite was very calm. We arrived when the weather was very hot, so we were very grateful to be able to swim in the lake. It wasn't too busy. Great facilities, such as ping pong tables, small park for younger children and pétanque area. Our pitch was on on the quieter side and a short walk to the sanitary facilities, which were clean. The bar by the pool was great and the pool had slides which were fun. We were able to order bread etc. which could be collected from the reception the following morning.

Disliked: The sanitary facilities need a bit of updating and the pool was very crowded, which is why the lake was nice. People kept their towels on the loungers, even when going to lunch for an hour or so, which stopped others enjoying the pool. The restaurant/creperie didn't have any opening times displayed, so when we went to use it we were told it was closed. Beware of mosquitoes and other biting insects.

Local attractions

For a slice of history on your hols, visit the UNESCO-listed town of Provins, 30 minutes away by car, to see the citadel's ramparts and fortified gates, dungeon, old covered market and medieval tunnels. In summer, there are daily horse shows and bird of prey displays at the Théâtre des Remparts. Just outside Provins is AJECTA, the French steam museum, where you can see the collection of 14 steam locomotives and 100 or so other items of rolling stock dating back to the early 19th century. Opening times are restricted so check before you set off. Also nearby (20 minutes from the site) is the Château de la Motte Tilly, an 18th-century estate where you can take a guided tour to see how the other half really lived. Another good day out is to take the 45-minute drive to Troyes to explore the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, filled with colourful 16th-century half-timbered houses and Gothic churches, and see stained glass being made at Atelier Vinum. There’s also a fab Modern Art Museum here with an interesting collection of impressionist paintings among others. If you’re into your bubbly it would, of course, be a travesty to come to this region and not try out some of the local drinks. Épernay, just over an hour’s drive away, is one of the Champagne area’s hubs, with heaps of household names and boutique brands offering tours and tastings. First wander down the Avenue de Champagne to see some of the main Champagne houses and then take an underground tour to see some of the 60 miles of caves that have been carved into the chalk under the street; the longest are the 17-mile-long cellars of Moët & Chandon.
