Local attractions
Between Saint-Malo (an hour’s drive) and the pink granite coastlines of Ploumanac'h (an hour and a half) and Perros-Guirec (an hour and 20 minutes), this area is pretty spectacular. Perhaps start by clambering over the cliffs at or Cap Fréhel (25 minutes) or Cap d'Erquy (15 minutes).
Erquy (five minutes) has a gorgeous fishing harbour, as well as a watersports centre, diving school, and yachting, kitesurfing, waterskiing and fishing activities on offer. Pléneuf-Val-André (five minutes) has a thalassotherapy centre and golf course.
Cinemas, casinos, restaurants, shops and supermarkets are also a short drive away, but a longer drive will get you to medieval cities, small villages or boat trips to the islands of Bréhat, Jersey and Guernsey.
If it’s wild landscapes and historical sites you’re after, one of the following will deliver: Lacs Bleus (10 minutes), Castle Bienassis (15 minutes’ walk), Sables-d'Or-les-Pins (10 minutes' drive), Cap Fréhel (25 minutes), Fort la Latte (20 minutes), Dinard (50 minutes), Barrage and tidal power Rance (50 minutes), Saint-Malo (an hour) and Mont Saint-Michel (an hour and a half).
