It's free, quick and easy!
- Family holiday park set in woodland near Périgueux in the Dordogne
- Five minutes’ drive to Cornille Aventure; 30 minutes to Brantôme
- Swimming pools, Jacuzzi, sports courts, mini golf and restaurant
With a magical setting on a seven-acre slice of forested Dordogne countryside near the ancient town of Périgueux, La Forêt Enchantée is sure to entrance all comers. A fabulously family-friendly spot, it is laid out with all sorts of alfresco facilities guaranteed to keep everyone happily running around in the sun.
By day, life drifts around the five swimming pools – two indoor pools take care of the (very) rare rainy day – while other family entertainment covers a mini-golf course plus tennis, pétanque and volleyball courts. If you’re holidaying with toddlers, there are play areas for them too, and use of all these amenities is free to guests.
Grown ups, are you after some precious me-time? Simply sink back into the bubbles of the Jacuzzi and chill… in fact you can carry on chilling as the luxury chalets here are all laid out with bathrooms with showers, a cosy indoor living area and kitchenettes to make life convenient on site.
You can rustle up a meal and eat en famille on your outdoor decking, or ditch the cooking altogether to dine at the terrace restaurant overlooking the pools and with views of the surrounding forest – the choice is yours.
Welcoming site owners Virginie and Aurélien are on hand to offer Dordogne sightseeing tips and assist with any queries.

Local attractions
La Forêt Enchantée is well located for exploring the scenic landscapes and gorgeous towns of the Dordogne. First stop might well be historic Périgueux (10 minutes’ drive) for its impressive cathedral, Roman remains and fascinating history museums.
Further afield, the hilltop town of Sarlat (an hour and 15 minutes) offers up medieval streets and gourmet markets, while waterside La Roque-Gageac (an hour and 20 minutes) is considered one of the loveliest towns in France, clinging to the cliffside above the Dordogne river. Also edging the river, Brantôme (half an hour) spreads out around its magnificent abbey in a labyrinth of cobbled streets.
Kids need a treat after all that cultural stuff? Take them kayaking (15 minutes), or hop on board a traditional wooden boat to sail down the river. Still got loads of energy to burn off? Let them run riot on treetop rope courses at Cornille Aventure (five minutes), zap them during outdoor laser challenges or test the family’s collective brain power in escape games.
