- Čiovo caravan park with spectacular views over Kaštela Bay, Dalmatia
- A 10-minute walk to the beach; Split and Solin half an hour’s drive
- Use of Sv. Križ resort facilities including pool, Jacuzzi and dining
Whether you're looking for a family holiday or just want some peace and quiet on a scenic Croatian island, Caravan Park Sv. Križ has got you covered. Set on the edge of the historic Dalmatian town of Trogir on the island of Čiovo, the pitches are shaded by pine trees and have spectacular views across Kaštela Bay.
The caravan park is a 10-minute walk from Čiovo’s sandy beaches for family time swimming in the Adriatic Sea, and it has all you need for simple stays: from electricity and showers, to barbecue pits and full-time security.
Want more? Then more you shall have. Since the park belongs to the Hotel Sv. Križ resort next door, you get loads of extra benefits: local cuisine in the cafés and restaurants with sea view terraces, a tennis court and a mini-market stocking any essentials. Oh, and a swimming pool with a sun terrace, an outdoor Jacuzzi and a luscious spa… pretty good perks, right?
Ancient Trogir (10 minutes’ drive) has an elegant seafront promenade, fortresses and palaces – plus more everyday necessities like supermarkets and pharmacies. In summer there’s a packed schedule of live music and festivals too.

Local attractions
On a peninsula stretching into the Adriatic Sea, the city of Split (half an hour’s drive) is renowned for its Roman ruins, which include the vast and remarkably well-preserved Diocletian's Palace. After visiting that, you can head to the palm tree-lined seafront promenade for an ice cream and sunset views. If you haven’t had your fill of ancient remains, a 15-minute drive from Split takes you to Solin, with its Roman amphitheatre.
There are several impressive fortifications in the historic town of Šibenik (55 minutes), including the medieval St. Michael’s Fortress, which hosts cultural events on its roof with sea views, and St. Nicholas Fortress, accessible only by boat. When it gets too hot, you can head to Šibenik’s Aquapark Dalmatia for thrilling watery rides.
For a change of scene, head inland to Plitvice National Park (two hours), which sits amid a dramatic karst landscape dotted with lakes and waterfalls. You can go hiking on forested trails, rent a boat at Lake Kozjak or sit quietly with your binoculars, hoping to catch a glimpse of a woodpecker or owl.
