  • Peaceful and secluded Pembrokeshire site in the Ritec Valley
  • Close to the coast: 10 minutes' drive to Tenby or 15 to Saundersfoot
  • Village pub and a local shop within a 20-minute walk
Ready for the green, serene surrounds of the Ritec Valley? Ritec Valley Glamping and Camping is a peaceful farm site close to the Pembrokeshire village of St Florence. This part of the Welsh coast has several top seaside spots to choose from: whether you opt for days sunbathing on Tenby beach (10 minutes' drive) or a spiritual jaunt to nearby Caldey Island, this site makes a great base if you’re on the hunt for coastal vistas and plenty of sea air. Ritec Valley Glamping and Camping is a family-friendly spot: kids are welcome here, as are four-legged friends (both have access to plenty of green space where they can run around and let off some steam). Piping-hot showers and well-maintained toilets are close by; solar energy and composting are used when possible to minimise your stay's impact on the environment. Come dinnertime, you can choose between self-barbecued grub and heading out to the village pub, which is within 20 minutes' walk of the site. Need to stock up on holiday supplies? No problem – there's a well-stocked village store about a 20-minute stroll away too; there are bigger supermarkets on hand in nearby Tenby.

What customers say

A basic, clean, and peaceful site with friendly owners, close to Tenby. Facilities are simple, but showers are warm. Be aware of potential boggy fields after rain, impacting vehicles. Ideal for nature lovers, not luxury seekers.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Really nice spot out in the sticks, we were left to our own devices which I love as a lot of campsites have a lot of rules and it’s hard to relax without having a row for music etc. a nice 15 minute walk into the village which has a nice shop and an old pub. Nice and simple. Real camping but they also had really good WiFi which you don’t have often which was great!

Disliked Showers were a bit hit and miss but they were fast to fix any problems.
Only other gripes were no hand wash at the sink and I don’t see the point in a washing up area with cold water?

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Very clean quiet site
Lovely friendly owners, great communication
Short drive to Tenby and other places of interest
Not too busy on my visit
Not commercial
Basic
I felt safe as a solo female camping

Disliked Only 2 'lav shacks' and 2 shower shacks, one pot wash...could be a problem for some who expect heated shower blocs, very basic but I didn't mind that,

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Although our camping trip had to be cancelled due to the recent storms affecting many areas, I was kept up to date by Laura who was very polite and helpful, Laura also sent a text prior to the trip with full details of the location and helpful notes to find the site and offering a mobile number if assistance was needed. This was actually a fantastic help as we were staying in Carmarthenshire on another campsite with no access to the internet and I hadn't thought to write down the details before setting off. I look forward to staying with Ritec in the future.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked - Lovely area
- Quiet, family friendly but also able to enjoy a nice evening with your friendship group
- Toilet/Showers were warm and clean!
- Area for washing dishes
- Close area to Tenby town with lots of activities nearby and places to eat/drink
- Beaches are close and a short drive to Saunders foot!

Disliked - Absolutely no service at all and wasn’t pre-warned that signal/internet is limited. However, was allowed access to the WiFi password which was lovely.

Local attractions

Tenby (10 minutes' drive) is a tremendous little spot where you can paddle, swim or climb up to castle ruins on a nearby headland (head here for stunning 360° sea vistas). Boat trips over to Caldey Island (crossing time 20 minutes) also come highly recommended. There's plenty of spiritual stuff in the air here – Cistercian monks have called this place home for hundreds of years (with views like these, it’s easy to see why). If after island trips you're still yearning for more sand and surf, book yourself onto a seal-watching tour at Tenby harbour (you might just spot some dolphins in these waters, too). For a change of scene, head to nearby Saundersfoot (15 minutes) where you can try your hand at windsurfing or paddle around the peaceful harbour in a kayak (kit can be rented in town). For kid-pleasing days, head inland to Heatherton World of Activities (five minutes' drive) – there's simply oodles to do here, with paintball, miniature golf, zipwires, archery and more at your little darlings' fingertips. For a top-rated local zoo, check out Manor Wildlife Park, where you can get up close and personal with cuddly bunnies and red pandas.
