What customers say

A peaceful riverside spot, this campsite's a treat! Lovely walks, wild swimming. Facilities clean & hot, fire pits provided. Some wanted more loos, noted slugs, but most found it amazing. Great rural vibe, helpful hosts, no signal for some is a bonus.

Badger yurt

Liked Such peace and quiet; Such beautiful surroundings; such a warm and friendly welcome from Les and Dan.
With a babbling brook running down one side of the site, no light pollution, and loads for wildlife, this place is a true hidden gem. I hired the Badger yurt as a bit of an adventure for myself and the boys, and we all loved every minute.
The yurt was thoughtfully equipped with all we could need for a long weekend away. Including bedding, towels, a log burner in the yurt, and a full camp kitchen. They have even included a number of LED candles for suitable ambience in the evening.
Yes, there is no electricity, and very limited phone signal, but I knew this before booking, and was not a problem for me.
The welcome extended by Les and Dan was warm and friendly, and the boys loved going to feed their farm animals in the morning, coming back afterwards to regale me with stories and tales of how they enjoyed themselves, whilst waving their claimed peacock feather and even an egg they were convinced they were going to hatch for their own chicken (spoiler alert, one egg got dropped - we christened it Humpty and said teary goodbyes).
For those wanting to escape from it all, this is a perfect site, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Cute, small campsite in beautiful surroundings. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

Disliked Probably could’ve done with one extra toilet and shower, plus a shower screen/curtain.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Wow! Wow! Wow! This place is a hidden gem! Something from a fairytale... The sound of the river, beautiful wildlife! On arrival we was amazed by how beautiful this location was! Lovely walks, lake, river, wild swimming was lush!.. Firepits available & firewood, clean facilities with powerful hot showers. We enjoyed it that much we asked to stay another night. It is very rural, country lanes, no phone signal but we would definitely pick this place everytime!! Friendly owner & cleaners. Thank you for a magical stay!!

Disliked No phone signal, but we enjoyed being without our phone!

Local attractions

Between the site and the coast (about a 15-minute drive) are the Preseli Hills, a fab area for a walk, mountain bike ride or a horse/pony trek organised by one of the local stables. It’s also an intriguing area on a historic front, for there are many ancient spots around the area: Castell Henllys Iron Age site and the Pentre Ifan Bronze Age burial chamber are both about 25 minutes away. If you do fancy heading for the coast, there are splendid beaches in all directions – head north to Newport Sands or south to Pendine, both about half an hour away. For coastal activities, take a long walk on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path or head to Cardigan (25 minutes) for coasteering, kayaking, rafting and the like. The town's Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park is worth a look for sightings of seals and dolphins. This is a fab area for family-oriented days out too: Oakwood Theme Park, Blue Lagoon waterpark and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo are all within a 40-minute drive.
