  • Simple rural Powys site a mile and a half from Knighton
  • Spaceguard Centre five minutes' drive; 20 minutes to Clun Castle
  • Well placed for Offa’s Dyke Path and Glyndŵr’s Way
In a quiet rural spot but within easy striking distance of the local town’s amenities – it’s a double win for New House Farm, a peaceful Powys site about a mile and a half from Knighton. The views from here are all green grassy and forested hills – the kind of landscapes that just demand you get out for a good country walk. It’s handy indeed, then, that Knighton is a great hub for walkers, with access to a great network of local paths as well as two popular long-distance trails: the Offa’s Dyke Path and Glyndŵr’s Way. Being on the Wales/England border also means you can easily hop over to the Shropshire Hills National Landscape for even more strolls. All a bit active? There are more leisurely options around too, including castle tours, animal parks and gardens to visit, and you’ll be able to learn all about things like comets and asteroids at the nearby Spaceguard Centre. Back on site, it’s a very simple setup, with just a portable toilet in the field (please note no access to drinking water or showers). Knighton (five minutes’ drive/half an hour’s walk) has plenty of shops and places to eat, along with a railway station that’s particularly handy for walks on the Heart of Wales Line Trail.
