If you’re to make the most of all the many outdoor activities available in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park – be it hiking, climbing, watersports or other options – you’ll need a great place to stay. And if you’re travelling in a tourer, the Brecon Beacons Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite could well be the well-equipped, well-located and peaceful spot you’re looking for. This site in the north of the national park is managed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club and open to both members and non-members, with member discounts. The price shown is for members, so non-members will need to select the £15 per night extra or buy a £69 membership – well worth considering if you're likely to spend more than four nights at a Club site over the coming year, as it brings discounts at more than 140 UK sites, plus other perks like access to tailored caravan/motorhome insurance and discounts on days out. Everything here is designed with the needs of touring guests in mind – spacious pitches all have electric hookup and room for your awning and barbecue as well as allowing for your car to be parked. Facilities are equally well thought out – guests have access to a launderette, wifi and two modern bathroom blocks with baby/toddler room and accessible facilities. There’s also a play area for the kids and access to a lovely circular walk just outside that’s great for dog walking. Getting to the site is nice and easy, with access from the main road and an ANPR system for efficient check-in and security. Brecon (five minutes’ drive) is a handy place for shops and eating, and a pub is 10 minutes’ walk away for a refreshing pint and a meal.
