  • Under 15 minutes' drive from Aberystwyth
  • Playground and games lounge on site; direct pebble beach access
What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

Breathtaking sea views, spotless site, and super staff. Great pool, beach access (rocky though!). Access road is narrow, but worth it for the stunning location and sunsets. Dog-friendly.

Liked This site is lovely, starting from the drive down with the shaped hedges to the flowers and bushes everywhere else. Everything was planted with thought and you can see it was cared for.
The welcome we received at reception on booking in was extremely friendly and details about the site itself and where everything was located was clear and concise.
We travelled with friends in two camper vans and on requesting two pitches together this was not a problem, although if we were arriving two days later being the bank holiday weekend it probably would have been, therefore we would highly recommended if you are doing the same to put the request on your booking just in case.
Within reception there was also a small shop which had a few necessities you could purchase as well as fridge magnets (which are always a must purchase in my book)!
The pitches we were given were on the front edge of the site with gravel and grass and were really nice size so you didn’t feel too close to the next door neighbour. We also had electric hookups and a drain where you could empty the grey waste water.
The toilet and shower areas (male and female on separate sides of the building) were immaculate the entire time we were there and included a family room which had a sink and toilet within the cubicle.
They are currently in the process of building a new block as well which is due to open in 2027, I’m unsure if this is replacing the current block or will be in addition to. I’d like to think I’m addition because whilst it wasn’t busy on site when we first arrived I could see that there would be issues with having to wait when the site is fully booked up which it was going to be the day we left.
On the same side as the female toilet/shower areas are the kitchen and also a room with two washing machines and a dryer. I think that these were token operated and you had to purchase the tokens at reception.
There is also a swimming pool and children’s play area on site which again looked immaculately clean.
On the other side of the site are the holiday homes which again (from the outside) looked very well kept.
There was a beach below but I wouldn’t say it was a ‘sunbathing’ type of beach as it was stoney and not your typical small stones either, these were large and quite difficult to walk across. A good spot for some beach fishing which the husbands had a go at. There were also another couple of people fishing close by too.
All in all this is a lovely site and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again if we were travelling in the area.

Disliked WIFI was only available in the reception area but is this really a huge issue?
In the grand scheme of things I don’t think so!

From the manager: Hi Claire,

Thank you so much for your lovely review — we’re really pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the welcome, the layout of the park, the gardens, and the cleanliness of the facilities. It’s great to know you and your friends had such a good stay with us.

Just to clarify a few small points for anyone reading your review in future:

WiFi is available throughout the park via independent providers, not just in reception.

Our brand‑new washroom block is currently being built and will be opening this summer, adding even more facilities for guests.

The beach here is a natural, rugged, rocky foreshore — exactly as advertised — and perfect for exploring, fishing, and taking in the sea air.

Our washing machines are completely free to use, with no tokens or payments required.

And while washrooms are available to all guests, we very rarely see queues, as most people staying with us make good use of their own onboard facilities.

We’re delighted that despite those small points, you had such a lovely stay and would happily return. We’d be very happy to welcome you back again whenever you’re next in the area.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

From the manager: Beste Christine,
Morfa Bychan Holiday Park

Liked Amazing camping experience! Clean, super friendly staff, heated swimming pool, great scenery, easy check in, we absolutely loved everything about it.

Disliked The WiFi wording is a bit sketchy- we ended up paying for 2x three day subscriptions but it’s only £15 extra so it is what it is, no biggy.

From the manager: Hi Ellie,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re really glad you chose to stay with us and appreciate you sharing your experience.
We’re sorry if there was any confusion around the washblock cleaning. Cleaning times are normally displayed at the entrance, and the comment you mentioned would have been intended as a polite indication that the facilities were in use for cleaning, rather than a direct instruction. That said, we completely understand how it may have come across, and we’ll remind our team to keep communication as clear and friendly as possible.
Thanks again for your feedback – it really helps us improve, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
