Set on a golf course on the river Spey, these bell tents are certainly fitting for an adventure-filled couples’ getaway in the Cairngorms National Park. For starters, Cairngorms Activities has a nine-hole golf course suitable for standard golf, frisbee golf and foot golf. It’s also a two-minute walk from the river Spey, where there is a sandy beach where guests can go wild swimming.
The site also has a number of activities that couples can book onto, including archery, gorge walking, canoeing on the river Spey and bicycle hire. The on-site daytime café makes it easy for you to get a caffeine boost or a bite to eat. The site is also scenic, with a series of ponds providing a peaceful backdrop to the bell tents.
Each bell tent is set on a raised platform and furnished with a cosy double bed. There are basic facilities on site including a toilet block and water. There are no showers, so if you need one, head into the local town of Grantown-on-Spey (five minutes’ drive away or half an hour’s walk along the riverbank) to use the public shower block. This pretty town has lots of eateries and a heritage trail.

- Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.
- Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
- No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.
- Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
