Sea views

  • Sea-view campervan pitches on the Wexford coastline, with dogs welcome
  • A 40-minute drive from Waterford or Wexford
  • Baginbun beach and Fethard on Sea village amenities a short walk away
Waking up to a sea view is a pretty special experience… and it’s one that comes as standard at The Norman View Campervan Park, on the gorgeous Co. Wexford coastline close to the village of Fethard on Sea. There’s no need to concern yourself with scrambling for a good spot here – each one of the motorhome pitches at this family-run farm site looks out over the waves, with Baginbun beach in the foreground and the Saltee Islands off in the distance. With views this good, it’s generally best to keep things simple in the surroundings – so there are no unnecessary distractions on the amenities front, although all the basics are covered in the form of fresh water, sewage and grey water disposal and facilities for sorting rubbish and recycling. Barbecues are permitted on site, and you can pick up the relevant bits in the village five minutes’ walk away (or stick around there for pubs and cafés instead if you prefer). Got a dog that’s partial to a sea view too? Happily, they’re welcome to join you at Norman View – that way, they can accompany you on walks along local beaches or out to Hook Lighthouse. Canoeing, kayaking and fishing are among the other activities available locally, and when you’re ready for a more urban day it’s about a 40-minute drive to Wexford or Waterford.

A lovely, well-kept site with ample, flat pitches and grand sea views. Owners are often called friendly and helpful. Non-electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked This is a brilliant location, close to a village, with large pitches overlooking the sea. The owners were lovely, and it's well-run. I don't think I've ever been to a campsite where people were so friendly. There's plenty to do around really nice location for cycling.

Non-electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked Super tidy site. Well looked after grounds. Amazing view close to town & beaches.

Disliked Nothing to dislike. Good value ...a shower block would be an excellent addition & possibly a playground for kids . Understandably it's no frills .

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely site, just on the outskirts of a charming village! Very friendly fellow MHers & several touring vans. Joe (owner & his dog) made numerous checks around the site - and always had time for a chat! The DOG PARK was fantastic, our 2x dogs Loved it. Excellent grey water bay & outdoor cassette waste facility. Overflow areas without EHU was busy. Best bits: Huge Wild flower areas for bees. Fantastic sea views. And a 10min walk to 2 fab beaches. Oh, and only €70 odd for 4x nights!!!

Disliked Only slight downside, no showers or toilet block (if required) We use our own, so not a problem.

Local attractions

Once you’ve gazed out at the lovely views on site, take in a bit more of the seaside scenery with a trip to Baginbun beach. It’s only about a 15-minute walk from the site, and if you’re feeling energetic you can carry on to the Martello Tower on the headland or add on a visit to Carnivan Bay for extra beach times. There are more coastal strolls to be had on the Hook Peninsula, including those taking in Hook Lighthouse and Hook Head Beach (both 15 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth leaving the coast behind for a little while to head inland for a wander around the restored ruins of Tintern Abbey (15 minutes), which also has a lovely walled garden and a tearoom. Other historic places to explore nearby include Johnstown Castle (35 minutes), Waterford Treasures: Medieval Museum and the interactive King of the Vikings (both 45 minutes). If you’re more into outdoors time, head to the John F Kennedy Arboretum (25 minutes), Copper Coast Mini Farm (55 minutes) or the madcap inflatables of Dunmore Adventure (an hour).
