Non-electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Site, host, space, lighting, gardens, location, accessibility, price all fabulous. John is very welcoming and informative also and there's washing and drying facilities which is fab. Also it is animal friendly which is fabulous

Disliked I'm no clean freak but the toilets were fairly manky 🙈
An old bottle of fairy liquid and no soap for hand washing either.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Peaceful countryside vibe but also a very short drive into Limerick city.
Safe and secure feel.
Spacious pitches for even the biggest motorhomes.
Beautiful woodland setting with lots of native trees and wildlife.
Plenty of place for dog walking.

It just felt good to be there... a little different from the usual campsite experience!

Non-electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Set into mature birch trees by a working farm, with much shrubbery and plants, so the pitches are fairly private and relaxing. No road noise at all. Makes a nice change from manicured lawns and privet hedges. The showers are €2 in the honesty box (I think), washing machine €3 and drier €1 and the pitch rate is very good. The office guy does a good rendition of Handel's Messiah. There is a cricket pitch here, in other words a well-kept field for exercise or for children to play in.

Disliked Shower, toilet and wash-up facilities are a fairly rudimentary, though they do the job required of them. Pitches are in need of weeding and tidy up, though all is forgiven when the birds come and land at your feet.

Local attractions

On the banks of the River Shannon, Limerick (15 minutes’ drive) is a hive of activity, packed with shops, galleries and museums. If you’re visiting to see your student offspring, there’s a whole heap of bars, pubs and restaurants just right for treating them to a meal out. You can also catch rugby games or book guided tours at Thomond Park (25 minutes), or go flat and jump racing at Limerick Racecourse (15 minutes). Golfers can get in on the act too, with Ballyneety Golf Club a mere five minutes’ drive away, while the future Ryder Cup venue Adare Manor Golf Club is 20 minutes’ drive. For spectacular coastlines, join the Wild Atlantic Way on the Shannon estuary (40 minutes) for dramatic seascapes, towering headlands and deserted sandy beaches. The arid limestone pavements of The Burren (an hour) and the awesome Cliffs of Moher (one hour 20 minutes) are just two of the spectacular landmarks along the route. Closer to the campsite, historians should seek out Lough Gur (15 minutes) for its neolithic stone circle, enclosed by 113 standing stones.
