- Rural site for motorbikers and cyclists, three kilometres from Kinsale
- A few minutes' ride to the 2,500-kilometre Wild Atlantic Way
- Good range of amenities, plus barbecues and campfires allowed
Motorbikers and cyclists – this is the Co Cork site you seek. (Not least because it's a mere few minutes' ride to the Wild Atlantic Way, the spectacular 2,5000-kilometre trail running all the way along Ireland's west coast from Kinsale in Co Cork to Malins Head in Donegal – biking as much of this as you can is hugely recommended.)
Biker Martin set up Motofeirme in 2015 as a place for travellers to pitch up near Kinsale and the Cork coast, and for bikers to have a stopoff point to pick up, repair or store their wheels. This is such a motorbike-friendly place that Martin will help with finding, inspecting and buying a bike, and safely store it for you until your Irish (and next) road trip.
And as for what you'll see on said trip? Motofeirme is three kilometres from the colourful Cork town and historic fishing port of Kinsale, and half an hour from Cork City if you're riding inland. Around the coast and Wild Atlantic Way, you can reach Baltimore in an hour and a half by motorbike, Mizen Head and the Kilmore Peninsula in two hours, and the Ring of Kerry's Rossbeigh beach within two and a half.
There's a good range of amenities on site, including toilets and showers, a washing-up area, charging facilities and free wifi. Barbecues and campfires are allowed.

Local attractions
Zip into Kinsale first for shops, pubs and restaurants, regular events, and teeing off at the spectacularly set Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links and the two courses of Kinsale Golf Club. There are sandy beaches close by, as well as two outdoor activity centres, three marinas, boat and yacht hire, harbour cruises, and watersports including sailing, kayaking and scuba diving.
Going in the other direction from the Wild Atlantic Way, the fishing port of Cobh (45 minutes) is another handsome spot, home of Cork harbour and facing Spike and Haulbowline islands. Or head inland and north for 35 minutes to reach Blarney, its castle and the famed Blarney Stone.
For teeny Atlantic island access – because you really should – it's a two and a half-hour ride from Motofeirme to access Dursey Island via Ireland's only cable car, and just under three to the departure point for the Skellig Islands and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Great Skellig from Portmagee.
