What customers say
Cheddar Bridge is a brilliant adult-only spot. Walk to the village & gorge. Spotless facilities (showers!), lovely staff. Pitches are great: level, roomy, tidy. Peaceful vibe, handy for shops, pubs & riverside strolls. Just a few minor notes on Wi-Fi and distant noise, but overall grand.

Peaceful, Spotless Campsite with a Lovely Atmosphere
Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)
Liked We stayed here last week on the non-electric tent field, and honestly, it was such a lovely experience. The site is adult-only, which really added to the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It was incredibly quiet, perfect if you’re looking to switch off and unwind.
One of the highlights was waking up to see baby rabbits running around in the mornings. it really added to the charm of the place. The surroundings feel very natural and well-kept.
The shower and toilet block was spotless throughout our stay. There are two showers in the ladies’ and i believe two in the men’s, so I can imagine there might be a bit of a wait during busier periods, but when we were there it wasn’t an issue. There’s also an additional toilet close to the tent field, which was very convenient and always clean.
The staff were fantastic, really friendly and welcoming when we checked in, and happy to help with anything we needed.
Location-wise, it’s ideal. There’s a footpath right past the site that takes you into Cheddar, which made it easy to pop into town without needing the car.
I also wanted to mention the church bells, as I’d seen this come up in other reviews. We only heard them once during our stay on Wednesday evening between 8–9pm and after looking into it, it seems this is just when they practice. Aside from that, we didn’t hear them at all, so it definitely wasn’t a disturbance for us.
Overall, a really peaceful, clean, and well-run campsite. we’d happily return!
Disliked Nothing!

A great base for exploring Cheddar…
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (large)
Liked A great base for exploring Cheddar - clean, dog-friendly and perfectly located
We stayed at Cheddar Bridge Touring Park over the bank holiday weekend in a tent and were really impressed. The facilities are very clean and well maintained, and there’s a handy washing up area complete with microwave and kettle - a nice touch. We didn’t have to wait for showers during our stay, though it’s worth bearing in mind that at peak times you may need a little patience.
The park is adult only, so if you’re looking for a peaceful, child-free escape this is ideal - and dogs are very welcome too.
The location is the real star of the show. The gorge walks are on your doorstep, and all the Cheddar tourist attractions are easily accessible without needing to get in the car. There are also several supermarkets within walking distance, which makes self-catering effortlessly easy.
A lovely spot and a great base for a relaxing break in a stunning part of Somerset.
