  • Family-friendly north Devon holiday park with lots of activities
  • Under two miles from Woolacombe; Combe Martin 15 minutes
  • Surf machines, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, bowling and sauna
Join the thousands of sheep that flock to Woolacombe for the annual ovine hairdressing championships, with a trip to the green and pleasant gardens of the Golden Coast Holiday Village. Visitors have access to masses of activities on site, from the pumped up (cycling, tennis, water flumes, four indoor and outdoor swimming pools), to the more leisurely (bowling, fishing, pitch and putt, sauna and solarium). Although there’s no shortage of mod cons, the site retains an old-school charm, not least thanks to its Old Mill Inn, which has been keeping people fed and watered since the seventeenth century. In the evenings, guests can chill out and enjoy the valley views, grab a pint in the sports bar, or enjoy entertainment including game shows, family discos, tribute bands, comedians and illusionists. 'Messy mayhem' is promised at the various kids’ clubs for all age groups, and the little sprouts should have a fine time on the bungee trampoline and climbing wall; parents can confirm that their offspring actually do walk on water as they take to the inflatable human hamster balls in the pool, or show off their board skills on the Wavesurfer artificial surf machine. For a pit stop, try creating a family heirloom over a cuppa at the ceramic-painting café.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: We were pitched on the edge of the park. It was quiet even though next to the entertainment centre. It was a lovely site with plenty on offer if you wanted it. We had a great breakfast in the Beach house. The facilities we used, rubbish bins, washing up area, chemical waste disposal and showers were immaculate and no issues with accessing showers which were piping hot.

Disliked: Nothing really!

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: First time visiting and what a fantastic site it is! Plenty to do, everywhere is spotless and well kept, everything you need is onsite, very relaxing and will definitely be visiting again soon! Loved the cash bingo on the evenings and that there is also a proper country pub onsite away from the kids area if needed to escape the noise. Must say it is the best large complex site we have been to and we even returned for an extra night at the end of our holiday touring around Devon.

Disliked: Couldn't fault anything

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Great onsite activities and entertainment. Large pitches comfortable to sit outside the van. Easy access to clean water and waste sites. Lots to do. Clean toilets and showers. Lots of little play areas and walks

Disliked: Not been able to get on the site earlier than 1400, it was a long drive and we had a baby to settle. The indoor pool was advertised as heated but definitely wasn't. My baby was far to uncomfortable to enjoy the water like he normally does.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Site was great, with good facilities for the children. There was plenty to do and plenty of entertainment. The location was good for us too as it was only a short drive to woolacombe beach. Everywhere seemed clean and tidy.

Disliked: Pitches were very unlevel, don't think we have ever stayed somewhere with pitches that bad. Had to use several bricks and wood to level it off. Toilet/shower blocks were abit of a walk for us as we were down the bottom of the touring pitches too. booking system for the pool doesn't really work during busy periods, people next to us said they had to over an hour to access the indoor pool one day, as the indoor pool works one in one out. The outdoor pool works better however you have to be down early to get a time slot. We also paid more then our friends to stay for the same amount of time, and we are still waiting for this to be resolved with the park which is disappointing.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the site's facilities, entertainment, and convenient location near Woolacombe Beach. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate you sharing your experience!

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: The size of the pitch

Disliked: Shop was really expensive, I know inflation and all that but the mark up was high, the pitch we were on in the area aren't really looking their best, I know it's countryside etc but at 5am being woken by the crows nesting in the trees above and branches falling on the roof of the caravan wasn't a very relaxing peaceful get away.
The toilet block is dated and the locks could be replaced, one toilet actually moved when sat on !!!
The kids went to the pool but didn't stay long as they said it was heaving so couldn't enjoy it.
I completely get we went at a busy time of year but think it just needs a bit of TLC

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback Lorraine. We're glad you appreciated the pitch size, but we're sorry to hear some aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. We take all feedback seriously and will review your concerns about the shop pricing, toilet facilities, and overall upkeep.
We understand that busy times can impact the experience, and we truly want all our guests to enjoy their time with us. Your input is valuable, and we’ll take it into consideration for future improvements.

Local attractions

Venture out and you’ll find loads to see and do in this part of North Devon. Clamber down the steep cobbledy streets to the fishing boats at the fourteenth-century quay in Clovelly (50 minutes' drive), or pay a visit to Barnstaple Pannier Market (25 minutes) to browse the local foodstuffs, arts and crafts, and antiques. Watermouth Castle (15 minutes) has dungeon labyrinths and a gnome land (anyone who thinks this sounds like the stuff of nightmares will be pacified by the dreamy views…). Nature lovers might enjoy an outing to the wilderness of Exmoor National Park to spot wild deer and ponies, choosing spots like the ruggedly gorgeous Valley of the Rocks (35 minutes) for wild goats and fossil hunting. For other days out, the kids can come face-to-leg with scarily lifelike dinosaurs and go swimming with sea lions at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (15 minutes), or just get spaced out by the rides at The Milky Way Adventure Park (45 minutes).
