What customers say

Lovely spot, friendly folk, great farm shop and cafe. Pitches are big and flat, good value. Quiet and handy for Devon/Dorset. Shower/loo could be better when busy, and it's dark at night. New facilities planned.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely cafe, farm shop - nice toilet/shower room. Nice and quiet good nights sleep. Would stay again. Honiton accessible via big hill and busy road so would only suggest by car

Disliked Pitches at back are a bit scruffy- perhaps best described as rustic.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked This is a lovely quiet campsite, conveniently located for Honiton and the south Devon and Dorset coasts. Exeter is also close by. We spend a week here most years. Some have noted the facilities as being a bit limited. That's partly true—there is only one shower/toilet for 5 pitches, but the campsite is rarely full, so there is almost never a queue. In any event, you can use your own caravan/toilet or if someone is in the shower, you can always nip into the cafe toilets next door. The campsite is unlit at night, so bring a torch. But that also adds to the charm, as on a clear night, the sky is unbelievable. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed campsite, then this is for you. If you want a crowded, busy site, then this is probably not for you. There is no wifi in the park itself, but there is good O₂ reception, which allows streaming of movies.

Disliked It's not really a dislike, but the toilet/grey water disposal point is not very obvious. The staff in the shop should really point it out on arrival. It's actually located in the compound with the bins. You will see a water point to one side, and the disposal is under a small hatch in the concrete floor, which has a handle. It is well disguised; hence, it is worth pointing out where it is.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Peaceful despite being just off the A35. Lovely Rosie in the shop was super welcoming and helpful. Cafe food was lovely, cooked breakfast was really tasty.

Disliked 1 toilet/shower combo for 5 pitches. Made the shower situation difficult in the morning. Toilet was fine as we had our own facilities.

Pitch es should have been more cared for.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Very peaceful

Disliked The site was unloved. Lots of nettles and over grow bushes. Nettles around the water tap. Everywhere over grown and rubbish thrown about just off site. Looks like it was a garden centre at some point. Cafe windows full of cobwebs
Shower had a key fob so wasn't good for us. Also there was only one shower and toilet

Local attractions

On holiday with the kids? Number-one stop will probably be The Donkey Sanctuary for cuddles with the rescued donkeys and mules, while animal-mad kids can play zookeepers for the day at Axe Valley Wildlife Park (both 15 minutes’ drive). Diggerland Devon (35 minutes) will keep everyone happily occupied driving tractors and racing go-karts, and there are rollercoasters and water rides for all ages and levels of bravery at Crealy Theme Park and Resort (half an hour). If you’re after a day of R&R at the beach, there are several Jurassic Coast options close by. Make for Charmouth (20 minutes) to go foraging for fossils, and if you have dogs with you, the long stretch of shingle at Budleigh Salterton (35 minutes) is dog-friendly all year round. Keep active by hiring kayaks or paddleboards at Sidmouth Beach (25 minutes) to view dramatic white cliffs from the sea, or stroll a short section of the South West Coast Path from Seaton Beach (25 minutes) to the cutesy seaside village of Beer (half an hour’s walk), with more than its fair share of art galleries and a pretty fishing harbour.
