  • Well-maintained park 15 minutes’ walk from Bossiney Cove in Cornwall
  • Tintagel Castle 20 minutes’ walk; Boscastle 10 minutes’ drive
  • Family-friendly wooden lodges; pubs and pasty shops 15 minutes’ walk
Set on a North Cornwall hillside with spectacular views to the Atlantic Ocean, Bossiney Bay Holiday Park is 15 minutes’ walk from the dog-friendly beach in tidal Bossiney Cove and the long-distance South West Coast Path. For insider info at Cornish myths and legends, a stay at this well-maintained and family-friendly spot puts you 20 minutes’ stroll from mysterious Tintagel Castle, forever connected with King Arthur and the reputed birthplace of Merlin the magician. Accommodation is in ultra-spacious wooden lodges with various permutations from one bedroom for cosy couples’ breaks up to three-bed cabins for family stays – all have storage and wardrobe space for your bits and bobs. Loads of internal space means you’ll never get under each other’s feet, and there are TVs in the living areas for lazy evenings after action-packed days of Cornish adventures. Kitchens come with all the basics for conjuring up family meals, and outside, you can laze on your private decks (all the better to admire the sea views). If you’re not feeling the cooking vibe, head into Tintagel village (15 minutes’ walk) to check out the pubs, cafés and pasty shops.

Local attractions

You don’t need to travel very far to be immersed in Cornish myths. Accessed by sea bridge, the medieval remains of Tintagel Castle (20 minutes’ walk) are forever associated with legend of King Arthur, and an eight-foot bronze sculpture of the king stands dramatically on the clifftop looking out over the ocean. At King Arthur’s Great Halls (10 minutes) nearby, you can see a spectacular collection of Pre-Raphaelite stained glass showcasing the exploits of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. For more information on local dark arts, visit The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in pretty coastal Boscastle (10 minutes’ drive) to see its collection of lotions, potions and Wicca talismans. When you’re done with the occult, have a meander around the village’s photogenic fishing harbour and sneak in a pint at one of the pubs. A walk along the River Trevillet into St Nectan’s Glen (five minutes’ drive) leads through woodland to a spectacular waterfall thought to have magical powers; round off your walk with an equally magical Cornish afternoon tea with scones and jam in the café nearby.

Liked Location and accommodation were perfect.
Lodge exceeded expectations, had everything and more for self catering. Washing machine and microwave were a bonus.
