What customers say

Grand views of the hills, staff are sound. Tents and lodges are good and clean, breakfast gets the thumbs up. Some found it peaceful. A few had bother with cleanliness, like bugs and muck, and loos were a bit of a trek when it rained. WiFi wasn't great for some, and no power in tents.

Bell tent (no pets)

Liked We had the most perfect couple of days glamping in the bell tent at Wheal Tor. The family were so welcoming and the tent was massive and totally kitted out with electric, a kettle, a heater, torches and lovely fairy lights! We had our own gas bbq outside which we used both nights. The setting is just beautiful (straight out of middle earth) with the most amazing views over the moor. Even bigger plus was that breakfast was unexpectedly included and was also great! Felt like we lucked out coming across this little gem. Hope to be back. Thank you ☺️ ❤️

Wooden 1 bedroom cabin (pet friendly)

Liked View.
Clean toilet facilities.

Disliked Broken bed.
Not very clean (live insects in the bedlinen provided).
Decking covered in animal faeces, would’ve been easy to hose off before guest arrival.

Wooden 1 bedroom cabin (pet friendly)

Liked Leuke locatie met goed uitzicht. Vriendelijke gastvrouw & gastheer.

Local attractions

Exploring the area should start out on Bodmin Moor, perhaps heading to places like prehistoric Hurlers Stone Circles or the cascades of Golitha Falls (both 10 minutes’ drive). There are lots of great walking trails around this part of the world, but if you need something a little extra to boost the experience, look into alpaca trekking with Moor View Alpacas (20 minutes). For alternative activities, get over to Siblyback Lake (15 minutes) for fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding and other watersports, or channel your inner adventurer at Adrenalin Quarry (20 minutes), where you can have a go at ziplining, axe-throwing and go-karting or bounce across the inflatable aqua park. Wheal Tor’s handy location puts it within easy reach of both Cornwall’s north coast, for days out at the likes of Tintagel Castle (50 minutes), and the south coast, where you can visit places like Fowey (45 minutes) or the Lost Gardens Heligan (an hour). Many of the county’s top attractions are easily visited too – including the famed Eden Project (40 minutes), where tropical biomes house plants from all over the world.
