Compton Bay - A scenic bay on the south-west coast, offering sand and cliffs. Good for walks on the cliffs, lovely sandy beach which is great for swimming, chilling, fossil-hunting (footsteps are visible in places), and surfing during the winter seasons. Blackgang Chine - The oldest amusement park in the UK, mixing rides, views, and a quirky fun-day-out for the family. The Needles & Alum Bay - Dramatic coastal scenery featuring the iconic Needles rock formations, lighthouse and coloured sands at Alum Bay — an outstanding location for views and a memorable outing. Ventnor Beach - A pleasant beach with promenade, cafés, ice cream, and a pub. Great for a seaside day out! Ventnor Botanic Garden - A scenic botanical garden taking advantage of the mild micro-climate of the southern Isle of Wight. Walking & Cycling the Downs / Coast - The west/south-west part of the Isle of Wight is very good for scenic walking and cycling. Chalk downs, cliff walks, and coastal trails. Several routes around Chale, Brighstone, and Atherfield are very picturesque.
