What customers say

Grand spot, right quiet and tidy. Lovely location, spotless facilities, especially the showers. Owners are sound, though can be out and about. Grand for heading to the Lakes and Dales, or a wander into Kirkby Lonsdale. Pitches can be a bit sloped, and no footpaths to town.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The touring pitches are laid out around a large grass area with grass between each pitch. The toilets and showers were clean. Easy access from the main road and close to the town.

Disliked We didn't see any wardens or owners at all during our stay. The drive through the farm yard and pass the long stay pitches isn't very pretty, on concrete and hard standing very close to each other. The toilet block was a long walk from the touring pitches.

From the manager: Hello, thank you for staying at our site and I am sorry to hear some things were not up to your expectations.
When site staff are not present, we have a self check-in system where your pitch details are displayed in the window, your name is on your pitch and a contact number is also displayed in the reception window (this is also included in your booking information). This number can be contacted 24/7.
The area which your described as 'not very pretty' is currently being developed in to holiday cottages and will be completed in the near future.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Clean site

Disliked People that live on site. Abusive aggressive people those.who use video surveillance to watch others no warden or person on site 24/7 live on site people think they own the site
Pitches to close together means fire risk and people can see into each other's vans awnings etc
Owner is quick to say we had no trouble.if that was the case then why would people that live on site need to use cctv and act like they own the place demanding.people.to leave alot of noise between the hour of 6.30 and 7.30 am meant to be a quiet site people turning of electric then choosing to say it trips well yeh if u use electric it may well if u use to much but not when u dont use it owners lack of empathy and not willing to take immediate action on aggressive people even with police involved. We are not disgruntled people we never complain never leave bad feedback and never had any issues with others hence we kept quiet during our stay till the male escalated over nothing but yet no apologies for his illegal wrong doings

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We have never experienced an altercation between site guests before.
We are a quiet, peaceful site and we welcome many of our guests back time and time again.
Our pitches are spacious and well maintained, as you can tell from other reviews.
We always encourage our guests to contact us if they have any issues at all and we resolve them as quickly as possible. We are available to contact 24/7.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Close to Kirby Lonsdale village centre
Nice sized pitches
Clean showers and toilets
Nice and quiet

Disliked The road into Kirby Lonsdale has no foot path so it is not safe to walk into Kirby Lonsdale and especially in the dark - outside of the owners responsibility but is the one negative

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Quiet chilling site, loads of space for van and awning, toilets and showers nice and clean.

Disliked We arrived around 4;30ish (afternoon) nobody to check us in just our name and pitch number on a site map. The site is just off the main busy road but not far from Kirkby Lonsdale how ever we would of liked some information on how to walk into Kirkby Lonsdale without going on a busy main road while walking with our dog. Apart from this little issue it was ok. Probably wouldn’t visit again just because it’s probably not our cup of tea.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nice site, very quiet apart from the sheep and cows but certainly no complaints for us.
Well setup site - didn’t see the owners but noticed our name and pitch number in the window at reception
Pitch hard standing was rock hard for awing pegs had to use impact driver to get them in.

Disliked Wi-Fi was weak and couldn’t really use it, not that we was really bothered as phone signal was good.

Local attractions

Start off by exploring the lovely Lunesdale area. Park up in Kirkby Lonsdale (five minutes' drive) for strolls around the town centre, crossing the graceful medieval arches of the Devil's Bridge and wandering or cycling along the riverbank. It's a short distance from here to Ruskin's View, described by the famous art critic in 1875 as 'one of the loveliest views in England', where you can take in suitably splendid panoramas over the Lune Valley. Next, a 10-minute drive to the south, you could visit the pretty village of Ingleton, where mountains, caves and waterfalls await. Alternatively, head further into Yorkshire for Dales day trips to Skipton (45 minutes) and its well-preserved castle, Settle (20 minutes) with its cliffs and caves or Hawes (35 minutes), home to cheese tastings at Wensleydale Creamery. To the north, you also have the Lake District National Park within reach. The handsome town of Kendal (25 minutes) has lots of historic sights to see, including a castle, museum and pleasant river walk, while the gorgeous shores of Windermere are just over half an hour away by road for boat trips, watersports and waterside wanders.
