If you’re looking for a restful adults-only location for a Lancashire camping break close to one of the most famous seaside resorts in the UK, then Norcross may be the very spot for you. Approached by a rural lane, the grass pitches are on a level field sheltered by trees, yet this secluded camping field is just 20 minutes’ drive from the bright lights and mega-attractions of Blackpool. In fact, Norcross is close to lots of places: you can be ordering a pint in the local pub within five minutes’ walk, or carry on to the village of Newton with Scales (10 minutes’ walk) for a basics shop, cash point and post office. Hop in the car and head to the market town of Kirkham (five minutes’ drive) to pick up bits and bobs in the supermarket or bag a takeaway, while a 20-minute drive will see you in Lytham St Annes for beach walks, a Victorian pier and playing golf on a prestigious links course. Amenities on site are straightforward: a couple of loos and recycling facilities, but you can buy fresh eggs for a hearty breakfast fry up, seasonal fruit or veg and plants from the owners’ farm shop – they also run a smallholding with sheep and free-range hens.

  • Group bookings of 3 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
  • Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
  • This is a quiet site: no music is allowed.
  • No electric barbecues allowed.
  • Please note that the toilet facilities are unisex.
  • The maximum tent size allowed is 2.1m x 3.8m x 1.4m height. Electricity is metered on site at £0.30 per kWh and must be paid at check-out. The hardstanding pitches have no access to any shower facilities.

Liked Everything, nothing to dislike, we got some nice fresh eggs, lovely, toilets nice and clean, shower is work in progress, Andrew the owner is lovely, had a blast in the pub, little garage shop around the corner, a 👍 from us

Liked Lovely, well kept, clean little site tucked away from a main road with easy access to buses into Blackpool.
It is a basic site but the toilets were spotless.
The owner was very friendly, helpful, and very welcoming.
There is an onsite honesty shop selling home produced and locally sourced where possible eggs, plants and vegetables.
There is a local pub within a five minute walk which has a good menu.
Another great find for us, thankyou, we will be back.

Liked Close to Blackpool for illuminations etc. Large, level pitches. Friendly welcome at the gate and seemed like good value for money at £22 a night for a small campervan and 2 adults (we visited in November). Pitches could be reserved if required. An excellent farm produce shop was available near the entrance gate.

Disliked Pitchup allowed us to book a single night (Saturday) but when we spoke to the owner Sunday morning he said that the minimum stay at weekends was 2 nights although he did stress that this clerical error was not our fault.
Toilets (2 of them) were clean but a bit on the small side and the tap shut off valves had not been switched on - perhaps they had been turned off due to the frosty weather? The gas heated shower was in an open air cubical giving it a rustic feel. We did not use it but it was probably fine. A new wet room shower block was under construction so this would be a nice addition when complete.

Blackpool (20 minutes’ drive) is the main event here, and the family attractions come thick and fast: daredevil rollercoaster rides and spectacular musicals at the Pleasure Beach, snorkelling with sharks at Sea Life Blackpool, and encounters with royalty at Madame Tussauds. That’s just for starters though; don’t neglect the 4D movies and panoramic views from the Blackpool Tower Eye or miss the chance to see rare Bornean orangutans at Blackpool Zoo. If you prefer to be out in the fresh country air, you can have a rip-roaring run around on the inflatables at Blackpool Wake Park (15 minutes). Easy access to Junction 3 of the M55 (10 minutes’ drive) also makes it a complete doddle to reach the walking and cycling routes of the southern Lake District National Park (55 minutes) or the Forest of Bowland National Landscape (40 minutes). Other intriguing options for outings include Ribble Steam Railway & Museum (10 minutes), the half-timbered (and possibly haunted) Samlesbury Hall (20 minutes) and the impressive beasts of the Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary (20 minutes).
