Located at the foot of the Coniston mountains, we are the ideal base for action and adventure. Whether it's walking, climbing, mountain biking, cycling, canoeing, sailing or gorge scrambling - we have it all on the doorstep! Or if you fancy taking it easy, you can relax with a cruise on Coniston Water, tuck into tasty cakes at the Brantwood cafe, and wander round the Ruskin Museum, soon to be home to Donald Campbell's restored powerboat Bluebird. At the end of the day, relax with a local beer in our bar or on the terrace, and enjoy one of our hearty meals. Camping is in the Victorian grounds, overlooked by a grand 150 year-old monkey puzzle tree. Plese check with the youth hostel for availability as during school term time we may be unable to offer camping.
