What customers say

Top site, spotless facilities, and proper warm showers. Spacious, level pitches, great power/water. Friendly staff. Lovely location near Skipton. Bar/restaurant get a nod for grub and craic. Dogs welcome! Small points on Wi-Fi and pitch sorting.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked Main bar especially outside seating

Disliked Touring pitch was poor due to very rough surface with lots of weeds. The area had potential to be improved to give it a good star rating.

Camping pod

Liked This is a lovely site and very well kept in a lovely location. The main building where you find reception, the shop and bar and restaurant is stunning and very clean. We stayed in a pod furnished in a theme and it was great and very conveniently located to facilities.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked The dog snug, bar. The pitch we had, rambling 1 was flat and large enough for our twin axle and awning. The toilet/showers were warm and very inviting, they looked recently renovated. It’s a quiet site and only a 5-8 min drive to skipton. Walks around seemed plenty.

Disliked Gents toilets only had 2 actual toilets, which my partner and other guests were not very happy about, as at morning ablution time there was a queue form for gents, also the cleaner closed the loos at 8am? For cleaning.
I was happy with women’s as I’m an early riser, so no problems for me.
Quite limited food offerings, for evenings, only a choice of pizza and sides, or lasagne/mac n cheese or a ceaser salad. But the food was delicious!

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring caravan pitch

Liked The location of the park. The showers and toilets we very clean, probably the cleanest I have ever seen.
All staff were lovely & friendly

Disliked I was unable to sit outside our caravan due to the amount of wasps. I am petrified of them. I appreciate there is not a lot the park can do about this.

Escapade fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Level pitch, campsite shop and bar, location was convenient for Skipton

Disliked Only two men’s toilets and two showers for over 35 pitches is poor also weekend cleaning of said block was at 8.30am meaning only the family disabled room was available, no WiFi on the touring pitches only really covers reception and bar area.

Camping pod

Liked The area is beautiful, the pods were cosy, clean but could've used a fan for the heat.
A family emergency meant we had to leave about 3 hours after getting there but the receptionist was lovely, very welcoming and informative and polite.

Local attractions

Head to Embsay Station (10 minutes’ drive) for a ride on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, but be sure to get there well before your train is due to depart to make the most of the tiny vintage café, which serves yummy home-made cakes. It’s also worth keeping an eye on the website for events like murder mysteries and driving experiences. At Thornton Hall Farm Country Park (15 minutes), the children can ride ponies, feed lambs or go on a safari drive through the grounds to see the resident deer herd. There is also an indoor soft-play area and quad bikes (for both kids and for adults, should you feel unfairly left out…) Need to wind down further? Take a day trip to Harrogate (35 minutes), where the Victorian Turkish Baths is a spectacular spot for a steam, a soak or an invigorating massage (or a cold plunge, if that’s your jam). At the Royal Pump Room Museum you can learn more about the history of this spa town, before heading to Betty’s Café Tea Rooms for scones and sandwiches.
