Pod with private hot tub

  • Modern luxury pods on a family farm a 10-minute drive from Filey
  • RSPB Bempton Cliffs 20 minutes’ drive; Whitby one hour
  • Hot tub and decked area; well-equipped kitchen and smart TV
If birdwatching and hiking are two staples of your camping holidays, perhaps with an extra slice of seaside, consider booking one of the well-maintained pods at Glamping at Graffitoe Farm. Occupying a rural spot just outside the North Yorkshire village of Hunmanby (five minutes’ drive), this remote site sits between RSPB Bempton Cliffs (20 minutes), a nesting ground for puffins, gannets and guillemots, and North York Moors National Park (40 minutes), with its walking and cycling trails. But before you start exploring the attractions of the local area, take some time to appreciate the luxury (and the splendid views) of the site. The glamping pods come with a fenced-off private decked area and a hot tub for sunset soaks or a relaxing night of wine drinking and stargazing. More comfort awaits inside, with a double bed and a pull-out sofa bed for the kids; please note that while bed linen is supplied for the double bed, you’ll have to bring your own for the sofa bed. Keen cooks shouldn’t have any problem whipping up a decent meal in the kitchen, which includes a hob, a microwave and an air fryer, plus a fridge with a small freezer. The nearest shop is in Hunmanby, where there are also a handful of pubs serving food, should the chef want a night off… In addition to a bathroom with toilet, wash basin and shower, the pod has electric toothbrush and USB charging points, and a smart TV (so bring your Netflix sign-in details).

What customers say

Reviewers love the tidy, well-kitted glamping pods on this quiet, secluded site. The sheltered decking with hot tubs and fairy lights is a real plus. The working farm provides beautiful views and wildlife. Most found their stays relaxing and grand, with many eager to come back, though some found mattresses a bit hard and had a few flies. A fan might be a good idea when it's warm, and there aren't many food delivery choices.

Camping pod

Liked The pod is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. The enclosed private decking is really lovely especially with the hot tub and fairy lights. The working farm is lovely too with fresh eggs available to purchase. We have stayed here a number of times in the past in a caravan and a tent and the facilities are more than adequate. This was our first stay in the pod and it did not disappoint. The area is very quiet and relaxed. Take a fan of the weather is hot, we happened to go during the heatwave so pre empted that which was a god send.

Disliked The mattress was very uncomfortable so much so we moved to the sofa bed the 2nd night. That was a slight improvement but still very uncomfortable. It would be a good idea to upgrade the mattress if possible or maybe add a mattress topper as you can feel the uncomfortable springs. But that is our only criticism. Unfortunately felt pricey due to not having a comfortable nights sleep

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review — we really appreciate it! We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the pod and made the most of the hot tub and the peaceful surroundings. It’s always lovely to welcome returning guests, and we’re delighted you got to experience the pod this time around!

I’m really sorry to hear that the mattress wasn’t comfortable for you — thank you for the honest feedback. I’m pleased to let you know that we’ve now replaced it with a brand-new mattress to ensure a much better night’s sleep for future guests. Just to mention, the sofa bed is primarily intended for children, so I completely understand that it wasn’t ideal for adults over multiple nights.

Thank you again for your kind words and helpful suggestions — they truly help us improve. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Camping pod

Liked We stopped here often when they had the old shepherd huts, but omg! The new pods are amazing and will definitely be returning next year.
It’s quiet and private, just perfect!
Only advice is, it’s a working farm so you may experience certain jobs being carried out at certain times of the year. If you book with this in mind, you won’t be disappointed.

Camping pod

Liked Nice place to stay, lots of beaches a short drive away. Quiet place to stay , dog friendly and there is a nice farmers trail to walk your dog.

Disliked Struggled to order any food for delivery, so you have to go out and get it yourself. Not the end of the world but have to think about it if you want to relax on the evening.

Camping pod

Liked Brilliant glamping pod with everything we could have wanted including a toaster and air fryer! Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 6 and 10).
Spotlessly clean, comfortable and well kept.
Lovely scenery and plenty of wildlife to watch right outside the door.
The hot tub is wonderful.
Owner is friendly and helpful.
Overall a brilliant stay and we will be back!
The pod does get very warm through the day so if you struggle with the heat I'd say bring a small fan with you.

Camping pod

Liked Such a fab stay! We came for our 1st wedding anniversary, it was peaceful, private and a great location to get to Whitby, Scarborough and York! Would absolutely stay here again, hot tub was great, bed was comfortable, had everything that you needed! Very clean too!

Disliked No full size mirror (minor thing but could definitely fit one on the back of the bathroom door 😄)

Local attractions

The long, expansive sandy beach at Filey (10 minutes’ drive) is sheltered at the northern end by the Filey Brigg peninsula, which you can climb to take in far-reaching views of the coastline and the North Sea. Along the seafront, there is a miniature golf course, the Compass Rose Fountain and a sculpture trail. Scarborough (20 minutes) has two beaches, separated by a headland topped by the medieval remains of Scarborough Castle. On the seafront, the Scarborough Spa is an elegant Victorian building with multiple venues for live music events, plus a colonnaded sun court featuring a chequered floor. Climbing the 199 Steps in Whitby (one hour) takes you to the ruins of medieval Whitby Abbey, whose atmospheric silhouette is said to have inspired Bram Stoker to write about vampires… Delve deeper into blood-sucking characters at the Dracula Experience museum, with special effects and live actors.
