What customers say

Lovely spot in Rendlesham Forest, grand for dogs, bikes, and stars. Woodland setting and wildlife praised, with ample pitches. Facilities are decent but a bit old-fashioned. Some say it's pricey for what you get, and a few minor bits need sorting, like speed bumps.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Open campsite with good sized pitches. No bright nightlights either so great for star gazing. Direct access to the forest and plenty of walking.

Disliked It's sandy soil so quite dusty when dry with cars driving past the pitches
The facilities are dated and small, but clean. If you NEED internet signal, this is probably not the place for you, it's sketchy.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Location was ideal in the hot weather as was able to walk our dogs in the forest and keep them cool.
I would've given 7, husband said 5 so we went in the middle.
Can't comment on WiFi as not sure there was any

Disliked Showers/toilets dated and shower too hot for me, was on a timer so a lot of hot water wasted while I waited for it to stop.
Although the pitch is Regulation size, it is the smallest pitch we've had, and close to other pitches.
Outdoor washing up area has no shelter, not sure how it would be used in the normal British weather lol
Arrived and pitched up, then told we were too far over for fire regs, and had to move over about a foot (camper & awning) as another camper was arriving Following day next to us, no one arrived on the 4 pitches on the side.
We only stayed 1 night of the 2 booked

Electric grass pitch

Liked Lovely site, sits in the forest on the perimeter of Woodbridge Airfield (mostly disused). Small shop on site sells sweets and Ice cream. Pitch making is a bit odd, but a great place to stay

Disliked Not a lot. Shop could sell milk, bread etc, but a minor grumble simply because we forgot ours!

Local attractions

Independent shops, cosy cafés and traditional pubs line the streets of Woodbridge (15 minutes' drive), on the River Deben. At the riverside Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum you might see the water wheel turn, alongside other huge cogs and mechanisms. The mill still produces flour, which is sold in several local shops. Squeezed between the River Alde and the North Sea, National Trust - Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (15 minutes) is a protected coastal area of shingle with a strong military heritage. Used to research and test elements of nuclear weapons, the area also includes two former airfields that now house deer and assorted birdlife. Neptune Marina, on the redeveloped waterfront in Ipswich (35 minutes) is lined with restaurants and cocktail bars. A sightseeing trip on the River Orwell might take you under the mighty Orwell Bridge and past the heathlands of Pin Mill, or all the way to the busy port of Felixstowe.
