A quiet rural location, close to the coast and on the edge of a thriving village for handy amenities… that’s three big selling points rolled into one fabulous Lincolnshire location at Meals Farm Certified Location. This Caravan and Motorhome Club members-only site is on the edge of the village of North Somercotes, and it’s a fine base indeed for some time spent exploring both countryside and coast.
There’s just a handful of pitches at this quiet spot, and it's an adults-only setup to help preserve a peaceful atmosphere (dogs are welcome though, so feel free to bring your pet along for the ride). As a CAMC site it’s specifically geared up for touring guests, with electric hook-ups, a chemical disposal point and a facilities block that’s got toilets, showers and a launderette. Pitches are well spaced around the field, so you’ll never feel crammed in and will have space for your awning, camping chairs and the like.
Being less than a mile from the village centre is a handy thing, as it means easy access to an excellent pub, an Italian restaurant and a couple of takeaways as well as a convenience store. For supermarkets and more places to eat it’s a 20-minute drive to Louth.
Filling your days should be fairly easy around here – the rural location lends itself well to walks, birdwatching and fishing, and it’s only a couple of miles to the coast. Steam trains, aviation museums, historic houses, animal attractions and traditional beach amusements all feature in the local area too, so you can pick and choose your activities as you go.

Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.- The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).
- No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
- A charge of £1.00 (€1.19) applies for the use of the shower.
- Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
- Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
- Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
- Tents are not accepted at this park.
- Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.
- Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
- Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
- The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.
- This site only accepts bookings from existing Caravan and Motorhome Club members: please provide your membership number in the 'Special requests' box when booking.

Local attractions
The coast is a big draw here, of course – perhaps start with a walk to Donna Nook Nature Reserve (half an hour on foot) to walk along coastal trails and look out for wildlife. It’s best known for its grey seal colony, but if you don't spot them you can try The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (20 minutes’ drive). Well-known beach towns nearby include Mablethorpe (20 minutes), Cleethorpes (half an hour) and Skegness (50 minutes); for quieter times, try Sutton on Sea (25 minutes) or Huttoft (half an hour).
This area is well known for aviation history, with attractions including East Kirkby Aerodrome Memorial (45 minutes) and the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre (50 minutes). For vintage land vehicles, ride the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway (20 minutes) or visit The Bubblecar Museum (55 minutes).
For historic buildings, visit Gunby Hall (40 minutes), National Trust - Tattershall Castle (50 minutes) or Doddington Hall & Gardens (an hour). Places like Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre (40 minutes) and Lincoln’s castle and cathedral (an hour) should feature on your list too.
