Pitches separated by hedges

  • Landscaped tourer park 10 minutes’ drive from Skegness, Lincolnshire
  • Golf course across the road; five minutes’ drive to Fantasy Island
  • Gravel pitches with electric hook-ups; bar and restaurant on site
Looking forward to a family-friendly Lincolnshire break for walking the Wolds, exploring the east-coast resorts or honing your handicap on the golf course? Step forward Poplar Farm, set in the village of Addlethorpe, with direct access to walking and cycling routes and a mere five minutes’ drive from Fantasy Island theme park at Ingoldmells. And that’s not the end of it, because right across the road is Addlethorpe Golf and Country Club, with a nine-hole course and driving range. With views over open countryside, hard-standing pitches at this neatly landscaped site are separated by hedges for extra privacy, and fully serviced for tourers and motorhomes; each has an electric hook-up and a water point. Other useful facilities include a sparklingly clean, modern shower and loo block, as well as a chemical disposal point. There are loads of food shops, pubs, takeaways and restaurants within 20 minutes’ drive. However, you don't need to go far if you don't want to, as there's also a restaurant and a bar at Poplar Farm serving food and drinks.

What customers say

Quiet, clean site, great pitches & wet rooms. Pub gets good reviews but staff/food. Reception often closed (check-in at golf club is a pain). Toilet paper runs out & washrooms not always spotless. Pub closure disappointing.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked Cant fault it for the price. The odd wash room ran out of loo roll on sunday but there is 7 rooms. Site well kept. Anyone who complains at £20 a night is mad.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked I really like the fully serviced pitches and it's better with a little shop. The wet rooms are nice when they're cleaned. I think we've stayed four times now. It must be alright as my 2 sons came to stay as well with a caravan and a campervan.

Disliked The wet room I went in on Sunday had mud all over the floor and toilet seat, also no hand wash or toilet paper in any I went in. I know there's nobody to clean it on a Sunday or bank holidays as we were there the last bank holiday filthy and not just mud. It's a shame they can't be cleaned every day.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked We're pension aged couple, a couple of past reviews nearly put us off, what a mistake that would've been, this site is amongst our favourites for value & surrounding countryside, the site manager treated us freinds not as a number, greated us on arrival, and took us to our pitch etc', I noticed him picking litter up one day from the wheat field adjacent to site, that's a
10 : ) toilet/ showers are modern and clean, like every site we've used they have their moments, mostly the odd disrespectful guests, BUT this was rare, anything untoward was soon rectified by the site manager !!. the bins out visual site & toilet waste back of showers similar, we really enjoyed our stay, so much so, that we're contemplating buying a larger caravan & renting a seasonal pitch...

Disliked As with any site, one could find something, all our live's me & the missus have used campsites, a missing toilet roll never ruined our holiday : ) ( we carry em on board = emergency ) .. our 02 Internet a bit tricky at times. but there was nothing major to dislike in our view ...

Local attractions

Top of your Lincolnshire to-do list may well be a day spent on the rollercoasters at Fantasy Island (five minutes’ drive), while a close second might be heading for the beach – choose between the almost-deserted sands at Anderby Creek (15 minutes) or the quiet, sandy expanse at Sutton-on-Sea (25 minutes) for bracing seaside walks. Skegness (10 minutes) beckons to families for its fairground rides, mini-golf and amusement arcades. The kids will probably also adore the lizards in the Tropical House and wild cat encounters at ARK Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (half an hour), or meeting the talkative parrots and admiring endangered tigers at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park (25 minutes). There’s plenty of history in these parts too, what with tours of the atmospheric, 13th-century Bolingbroke Castle (25 minutes), birthplace of King Henry IV, and the photogenic ruins of Tupholme Abbey (45 minutes), abandoned in the middle of a field. Coming more up to date, you can tour the interactive World War II displays at the International Bomber Command Centre (an hour).
