What customers say
Lovely site with great views, pitches, and staff. Clean facilities, popular bar/food. Very family-friendly. Some suggest more toilets/showers during busy times and wish for better shower pressure, but many want to return.

Would definitely be happy to go back here again!
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked There was a bar with a marquee tent to sit in, and they serve food on Friday and Saturday nights. The toilets were lovely and modern and clean in a little wooden shack. Plenty of space, we went when it was fully booked and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. There was a lovely view and it helped we had good weather.
Disliked Wish there was more toilets, there was only 4 cubicles, so in the morning there was a queue.

Appalling experience.
Electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The campsite itself is a nice place.
Disliked Our experience was a sad one with no empathy from the host considering the extreme 45mph winds. We spent around 3 and a bit hours here in which we had our tent up and then seriously damaged by the winds. We were offered a different spot but the location and the forecast of the wind meant it was inevitable that our tent was going to get destroyed if we put it up and continued with the stay as planned. The tent, a £270 one less than 6 months old saw 3 out of the 4 frame work poles snapped and weakened as the wind was just too relentless. We made the decision to leave on the same day because it just wasn’t safe to tent in the conditions. With this in mind and the weather warnings in place, you would like to hope that the host would understand instead of displaying the indecency of greed. They kept the full amount without refund. In all honesty we appreciated that they should probably keep the fee for the day for their trouble and refund the other 3 days as planned. But this wasn’t the case, rather shockingly and in the circumstances - appallingly.
My wife and I even wondered if they would perhaps offer us the three days another time in the same year (instead of giving a refund) but again, no and I honestly may come across as bitter here but when you’re struggling to even pitch up at a site you would think that common sense prevails.
I would like to mention that Pitch UP were just as poor in the aftermath and I will not use them again for their poor customer service and lack of accountability for customer care/safety.
Furthermore to this, if we had of set our tent up in the conditions, who’d have known what scenarios could have happened. Image leaving your tent in 45mph winds for the day and coming back praying and worrying about all your belongings inside. I’ll even mention the guests next door to us, the were driven after by the owner for going a bit quicker than they should of done and in his word or similar “if the wind got hold of the car as you turned it probably would have sent you rolling down the side of the hill” but it’s safe to pitch up your tent lads, no problem… upon inspecting if we should of moved spots, I made an effort to ask a family nearby and they were concerned about the wind and were playing it by ear, but also said they were scared about not getting their money back despite the conditions.
If you do book this camp site, be wary to check the weather two weeks in advance if you want a refund. This is what reply my wife received. What a load of bollocks.
I’d have happily returned to this venue with human decency prevailing but in light of our experience and aftercare and the sheer cheekiness to say you should check the weather two weeks in advance and you must pay the full amount before hand, I’ll be supporting other family tan campsites who display better ethos other than grab the money we can.
