Caselette, Turin, Italy
Power optional grass travel trailer, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Smaller traditional site alongside residential chalets without all the tourist trappings such as pool, bar etc made for a nice, quiet stay. Pitches were well marked and there was shade offered by some trees. Plenty of hot water in the shower block although you need to remember to take your own toilet paper as this is not provided. Excellent playground and toys for children.
Helpful staff - a shuttle bus is available to link to/from the train station where its an easy journey into Turin. The city was beautiful and worth 2-3 days of visiting.
There are several supermarkets not far away and staff will help with ordering food from local pizza takeaway. Wifi on the site is free close to reception or for €1 for 24 hours per device for wider coverage.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely shaded pitches that were well marked. Good facilities that were always clean and never a queue. Onsite restaurant was an unexpected surprise - really nice quality food and excellent service. Nice pool located near reception. Wifi coverage good across the site. Location was great for getting into Bologna - bus comes into the site car park and there was good information available from reception too. Supermarkets close by for shopping.
Disliked Not the sites fault but there was an automatic bird scarer on the farm land next door - what sounded like a gun shot every 20 minutes through the day was initially unnerving but we soon got used to it! Thankfully all was peaceful at night.

Rome, Rome, Italy
Powered grass and earth tent or RV campsite
Liked Large family site with excellent facilities in a good location. Toilets and showers were absolutely immaculate as was washing up and laundry. Nice pool with loungers, bar/cafe alongside. There is also an on-site restaurant where you can eat in or take away. Free shuttle service to the main gate was a bonus in the heat. Excellent wifi coverage. Good information provided at reception for visits into Rome (about 45mins travel time) with a bus stop right outside the main gate.
Disliked Really not a lot to dislike, only minor issues: Sprinkler system next to the tent meant the ground was a bit damp each morning. Local dogs could be heard barking at night.

Lépin-le-Lac, Savoie, France
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Large site with plenty of facilities and a good vibe. Lake access just a short walk from our tent with very pretty views. Pitches offered varying amounts of shade. Onsite bar with snacks and drinks by the lake, sometimes with guest food vans. We were also able to order fresh croissants and bread for morning pick up from reception. Good wifi across the site.
Nearest supermarket we found was a short drive away in Chambery.
Disliked Pitch-Up - you need to update the details for this site! The pin location is incorrect and Camping Ferrand is part of the OnlyCamp group. Look for these signs rather than "Ferrand".
Sometimes facilities needed attention - we took toilet roll for each visit to be on the safe side!

Liked Spectacular location and some of the best camping facilities we’ve ever experienced! Lovely little social space central to showers, toilets, washing up, laundry, all absolutely immaculate. Friendly and helpful owners/staff. Excellent level pitches and good wifi even though we were surrounded by mountains! Nice little site snack bar offering breakfasts, and light bites and drinks; fresh bread and croissants can be ordered for the following day.

Peschiera del Garda, Verona, Italy
Powered grass campsite (large)
Liked Excellent location and facilities. The lake was just a minutes walk from our tent and and we were well placed for travel to other towns and cities. Site seems to cater for everyone with additional facilities for families, disabilities and even pets! All toilets and showers were immaculately clean. A bigger site than we’re used to but never felt overcrowded due to spacing and arrangement of pitches. We didn’t use the pool much (preferred the lake) but it was well set out with an adults and children’s pool, showers, sun loungers and a snack bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful across the site. We had WiFi coverage at our pitch. Two big supermarkets within a couple of mins drive/10 min walk & plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Liked A return visit to this lovely site, we liked it so much last time! Facilities always clean. Relaxed camping among the trees overlooking the site lake with beautiful views of Mont Blanc. Lac de Passy just a few hundred meters away with stunningly clear water, perfect for swimming
Great location for exploring the area and nearby shops/supermarkets for supplies just a quick drive away.

Liked Lovely site with excellent facilities. Nice level pitches with some shade offered by trees which was appreciated on our hotter days. There is a private swimming lake for campers as well as the larger lake just a few hundred yards walk, both are clean and a nice swim with simply stunning views!
Showers and toilets were immaculate with plenty of hot water.
Loved being surrounded by wildlife, lots of birds bobbing about and we were lulled to sleep by the bull frogs in the pond at night.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. They also run a cafe/restaurant next to the site pool with a good menu range. Had a delicious steak there on our last night. WiFi was available close to the main facility block.
Disliked Because the site is in a good central location there is some traffic noise. This did not bother us.

Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked A warm welcome from Matthew who did everything he could to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. Excellent facilities (lots of hot water and heated floors in the shower block) Camping mid-April meant we had them nearly to ourselves! Saturday night onsite wood-fired pizza and local beers & wines made for a delicious treat. Beautiful views from our pitch, we couldn’t have asked for more. We’ll be back!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Friendly and helpful owners.
Great view from the site and plenty to do nearby.
Simple back to basics old-school camping with campfires allowed.
Big efforts to stay environmentally friendly.
Delicious home produce for sale.
Disliked A number of sloping pitches but could easily work round this when the site is quiet. A sink in which to wash your face/clean teeth other than those in individual toilets would be useful.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely site and spotlessly clean. Site team had really thought about safety of campers through COVID and there were markings on the grass to ensure there was lots of distance between pitches as well as hand sanitiser at all facilities. The camping field (without electricity) was quite rolling but the pitch markings meant everyone got a relatively flat pitch. Showers were great with plenty of hot water. The site was very peaceful as is mentioned in the description and this was adhered to by everyone while we were there. Wifi is available at an additional cost but as we were trying to "get away from it all" this was not something we can comment on - there was enough signal for us to manage the basics that we needed through 4G. We were able to have a fire in our burner as long as this was contained and above 8 inches from the ground. The site was a good base for further exploration and there was plenty to do within striking range.
