Organising a break at Camping Ferrand at Lépin-le-Lac in Savoie is a very clever way of avoiding any such problems, as its location puts you steps away from a beach on peaceful Lac d’Aiguebelette, and within striking distance of the impressive peaks and hiking trails of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. This welcoming little haven offers spacious, shaded pitches surrounded by lots of greenery to keep you nice and private. It’s so quiet that all you’ll hear is the gentle lapping of water and birdsong, so if you need to recharge your batteries, you’ve definitely got the right spot. Picnic spots dot the shoreline for lazy days soaking up the sun and the views, and there’s a small playground close by as well as a couple of ping-pong tables to keep the kids occupied. When you need to cool off, simply take a dip from the beach, and if anyone can summon up enough energy, a whole host of watersports await, including canoeing and paddleboarding. Services at reception encompass a breakfast bread and pastry delivery service, and a constant supply of ice cream and drinks from the bar.

Disliked aucun plan des campings pas vraiment de restauration possible en dehors des pizzas tous les jours. Bar peu achalandé.
En période de canicule il me semblerait judicieux de proposer les espaces réellement ombragés disponibles. Notre emplacement dit ombragé ne l'est que jusqu'à 11h puis plein soleil toute la journée. Un groupe d'enfants était en plein soleil alors que de nombreux emplacements ombragés étaient disponibles. Bref des infos vendeuses qui ne reflètent pas la réalité. aucune info sur la WIFI

Liked Beautiful location right next to the lake, with a beach so you can enjoy a swim. Good sized pitch with hedging around so you have privacy. Facilities a little dated but clean.

Disliked Only downside was that there wasn't much in the immediate vicinity so you had to drive to get food or go for a walk with the dogs.
Also dogs not allowed to swim/paddle in the lake on the campsite, so difficult for me to go for a swim as I was on my own.

Liked The site is not marked on Google or Apple Maps and is not officially open until later in June so very few people are here making the stay quite private. The shower and toilet blocks have just been completely rebuilt to a high standard. The location is amazing with direct access to the lake

Disliked The Pitchup directions and location is shown incorrectly and the phone number does not connect. @Pitchup please sort this out!!

Liked Loved it. Maybe because its huge and it was nearly empty. Like a private garden. I just got in(open gate) and looked for my pitch and electricity. It's like from an old movie. Old, looks abandoned. But pitches are clean and grassy, toilets clean and having everything you need except toilet paper. Acces to the lake with wild ducks not afraid of people and you can have a nice swim. Beautiful views and a lot of shade.

Disliked Bad communication on arrival. Nobody on reception at 18.30 and contact phone not working

Liked Friendly welcome, own choice of pitch, food truck on site every night, bar, lovely staff, clean. We stayed longer than planned and hope to return. Facilities are basic but all you need. Direct access to the lake for swimming and paddleboarding.

Local attractions

First move for active families will probably be straight down to the beach on Lac d’Aiguebelette; from there you can explore this protected marine reserve by boat and paddleboard, go fishing or stay on dry land and follow the way-marked trails around the shores of the lake on foot or by e-bike (hire the latter on site). If you’d like a different perspective on the lake, head for Novalaise (15 minutes’ drive), the departure point for hang-gliding adventures over the water. You can experience all the fun of the fair at Walibi Rhône-Alpes (half an hour), which caters for all levels of bravery, from kid-friendly boat cruises around the waterpark to downright scary rollercoaster rides. Elfy Park - La Terrasse (about an hour) is probably better suited to younger kids, and serves as an introduction to low-level ziplines and rope courses designed to build their confidence. Bula Kids (40 minutes) and Kabane (35 minutes) are other options for toddlers, both with soft-play centres and climbing equipment.
