Liked Lovely welcome from the owners. Told us best places to go to eat in the local areas. Toilets and showers clean. Access to a fridge if needed. The communal kitchen with log burner oven is a brilliant idea. We sat in there on a cold evening playing cards! Tent pitches nice and flat, it had been raining before we arrived and despite this it was not muddy.

Disliked There’s very limited shower and toilet availability. We were ok at the time of year we went as there were only three couples on the site but not sure what it would be like if full.

Liked Location. Views. Peace. The log store with eggs and marshmallows. If you’re looking for a back to basics campsite but want the luxury of proper flushing toilets and hot running water then this is the place! Stayed for 3 nights with my children. It was their first camping experience! They really enjoyed feeling as though they were in the middle of nowhere. Many reviews have commented on the showers, we had no problems with these whilst we were there. Facilities were clean, there was hot water (just takes a minute to warm up). Not too long of a drive into skipton town centre, Settle or Clitheroe. Around 15min drive from the lovely walks at Gisburn forest. Be prepared for wind! It warns of this in the description but definitely take note!

Disliked Long grass made it a little tricky to pitch up. Had also been raining the previous day.

Liked Nice location. Clean toilet and shower facilities both indoor and out. Site appeared to be well looked after. Ice cream van on hot days was brilliant! Didn’t try the food from the hut but it looked and smelt great. Short drive away from a supermarket and pizza place. Nice scenic 30minute stroll to the local pub with nice beer garden and food. Kids and I had a great time!

Liked Nice site that still feels peaceful even when busy. The showers/toilet blocks kept clean there’s even an accessible/family bathroom. On arrival staff are really friendly and update you with things that are going on on the site ie visiting food trucks. The view from pod was lovely and on a clear night you can see stars for miles. There are loads of local walks if that’s your thing and I would definitely recommend visiting the heights of Abraham, which is only around 15 minutes away. We went on a rainy day and still had a brilliant time! Only a short drive away from supermarkets also Which is handy. Reasonable sized field for kids to play and let off steam. Everyone seemed to stick to the 10:30 quiet time ☺️

Liked Location was excellent, clear skies and lovely views. Staff friendly. Bar area cosy. Well situated for Kielder forest

Disliked Showers and toilets have signs stating they are being refurbished. Doors that don’t fit properly or lock. Relatively clean though. Bit of a walk from tent to toilets, only a problem in the rain really though. Plenty of empty pitches but we were out between two families when we could have been in a quieter spot.

Liked Very clean site. We were on the adult only field which is away from the children’s play park but still close enough to the bar and pizza shack. Adult only field has small toilet and shower shack which was kept clean and well stocked with loo roll/hand towels. Showers ran at pretty constant temperature unless the pot wash sink was being used. Staff really friendly. Only short drive from Alnwick castle and Amble. Nice little pub just a short walk away past RAF Boulmer also. Would definitely recommend a boat trip from Seahouses to Holy Island
