Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Peaceful, clean, felt safe. Toilets did not smell. Showers were good. Mowed pitches amongst the long grasses felt magical.

Liked Third stay.
Very relaxed. Lovely that the children can play safely and freely on the straw bales in the middle of the field. A favourite camping spot. Many thanks

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Quiet. Grass was cut with no obvious litter.
Disliked One portaloo for all campers which wasn’t particularly clean. Washing up area was just a stainless steel sink on legs with a bucket underneath and not plumbed in taps or drainage. The sink wasn’t kept clean. The water tap was located about a meter or so away from the sink. A few dirty looking plastic chairs around the bin area, not clear if these were supposed to be for guest use although one was being used to wedge shut a portaloo style cabin bearing the signage of ‘shower’. The site is located behind a boarded up five bar gate with neighbouring traveller community which all made me feel a little apprehensive with the main signage for the camping area bearing a different name to that advertised on pitch up.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Children loved watching the horses in the field next to the tent. Clean portaloos and well organised washing up area. Picnic tables and chairs around the site were a great bonus that I was not expecting. Site clean and tidy and the owners were very welcoming. My children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the horses from them. Perfectly placed for visiting a lot of the local attractions. Wish we could have stayed a little longer but had onward bookings. Thank you for a great stay

From the manager: Thank you for staying with us and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us during your adventures in Northumberland. It was lovely to see the children playing together and just enjoying the freedom of the countryside. We love sharing stories about the retired horses who live with us and they seem to enjoy having campers as their neighbours too :) You are welcome anytime if you plan another trip to Northumberland in the future.

Liked Laundry, play area, view
Disliked For the size of the site a small shop doing basics or at least able to provide change and washing powder for the laundry would have been helpful
