Liked Easy access from the motorway we chose the site for a stop over for the night on a Scotland trip. Good size pitches with hook up for electricity and all the facilities we needed. Although out of season and quiet check in was easy. Reasonably priced too. Site is basic but does the job well. Toilets facilities showers were clean warm tidy and showers were good.

Laurel primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked I wanted to say its awfull, rubbish, dont go there, you wont like it, just to keep people away and keep what is an absolutely brilliant tranquil little family run site as our Devon secret to return to!!!
However in the interests of fairness to Paul and Sally, who are friendly approachable attentive, it's an amazing little place, well run, clean, tidy and quiet. Safe for kids to be kids, and adults just to chill in an idyllic rural setting surrounded by nature and escape the modern world.
Facilities were clean, well presented with great showers and toilets.
Pitch size was one of the best we've had and ample for a campervan, trailer and air awning with a good level of privacy and room for kids to play.
You need to bring everything with you and be happy to be self sufficient. There are no shops nearby and none of the pitches have electricity hook up.
We would certainly recommend it and look to come back in the future. The kids loved it and so did we.
Disliked Having to leave....
Drivers of bigger vans, people towing and towns folk who can't reverse or drive in Devons lanes beware and follow the site owners directions for access as all the roads Waze and your sat nav send you down aren't grockle friendly and are single track with passing places.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked It is what it says in the tin.... rual, scenic quiet and tranquil back to basics and nature. You need to be self contained and able to pitch up off grid. Set in a tranquil valley there are no shops around and not even a phone signal to whistle up a delivery. Site is just two sloping fields with a stream along the bottom of them feeding into and from a small lake with an unmetaled track running along the length of the camper van field, so levelling and getting a perfect pitch is down to you, your parking and your ramps.
Access leading to the site is through a few miles of typical narrow hedged Devon lanes, so if reversing competently isn't your forte or you have a moosive van or motor home it's maybe not the place for you but other than that it's a perfect little rural getaway.
Lovely site clean and tidy facilities. Everything you basically need. Site is fully lit at night when there is a full moon otherwise don't forget a torch.

Liked Great site very well kept and managed. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Pitches were of a good size level and not too crowded in. Facilities were heated, clean and to a high standard. Showers were hot and powerful and the dishwashing area again was to a high standard with all you need.
Check in was done online and your pitch allocation done before you arrive with automatic access using ANPR to the site.
Although just off the main road the site at night was lovely and quiet farm shop and care just over the road were excellent as was the village pub a few minutes walk away.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked The site is very new clean and tidy having literally just opened.
Owner and family were very helpful during our stay.
There are only 3 camper van pitches all are of a good size with fairly level hard standing and grass pitch with a seated bench on the grass for your use. The site is tranquil scenic and a wonderful place to stay. The views from the pitches are amazing and it's peaceful and dark at night with no artificial light pollution just the animals calling. You need to be self reliant, as nothing bar two basic portaloo toilets and a sink with a drinking water tap are provided in the camping field below and any waste you have to take away with you.
If off grid self sufficient camping in beautiful surroundings is your thing this amazing place I for you.

Liked Quiet clean well run small site. Spacious level generous grass pitches. Within a stones throw of the A1 but you don't hear it. Toilets and pot wash were kept clean by staff and had everything that we needed for a 3 night stay. There are two pot wash areas and a potable water point on the end of the toilets and showers of which there are three combined shower WC and basin cubical. At capacity it may become oversubscribed? Noticed it as the BH weekenders started to arrive.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, and for your lovely comments about our facilities, we will be sure to pass them on to the cleaning team. Apologies that you felt the pitches did not offer adequate privacy. They are large pitches as you said and bordered with hedges on either side, and a fence at the back, and I am sure that if you were to have contacted our warden she would have done her best to change your pitch if there were any others available. Hopefully you enjoyed the rest of the site and your stay, and will reconsider visiting us again in the future.

Liked Rural quiet clean and tidy site and facilities were spotlessly clean as well. Staff were friendly and polite.
Site has showers toilets laundry and washing facilities with a small general shop on site that did hot drinks, brekie rolls in the mornings from 0830 to 1000 which were lovely. Site was quiet when we were there end of season but it had everything you need for a great stay. Site is very quiet and dark at night.
They had made up portable fire pits to hire and logs for sale.

Liked Site was very clean tidy and quiet. We had a hardstanding pitch with electric hook up. It was good almost perfectly level and plenty of space for our van and awning. Staff were polite friendly and helpful. We booked at the end of the season and the site shuts down at the end of October so we were one of 8 vans staying there. Site is very quiet at night and very dark. Facilities were scaled back due to reduced numbers of guests but the shop indoor pool, central showers wash up and self service laundry were all open and spotlessly clean and tidy. There are no off site local facilities in the area.Good facilities for kids. Areas to exercise dogs on site and easy access to walks nearby.
Bus stop right outside the site has regular busses even on Sundays.
Would certainly recommend and look to stay again.

Liked Good level spacious pitches. Nice Rural family run site clean tidy with good facilities and at a reasonable rate. Would certainly use again.
Size is everything and its access is via narrow Devon lanes so If you've got a large motorhome live in a town or city where country driving is not your thing and you don't like putting your shiny motorhome up against hedges in the narrow lanes that lead to the site for several miles don't bother booking.
Disliked The fact we had only booked for one night.

Liked Site was immaculate all the facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy.
The site is mainly for static vans and huts / lodges with only a small number of motorhome pitches.
All are gravel level and spacious with water and electric hook up at each one.
Toilets showers and washing up facilities at either end of the pitches within 50 mtrs.
Well kept quiet rural site that we would return to again and recommend.
Lots of wildlife on and about the water within the park. Very tranquil setting.
Disliked Only that we didn't have more time to stay longer.
