Bluebell lodge (four person)
Liked What a hidden gem this place is, we have stayed in many cabins before but nothing compared to this. The cabin was equipped with everything you need, bedding, towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, hand wash, a fan not to mention the dog biscuits , blanket and towels. All you need is body wash, food and clothing. Highly recommend and will be returning

Camping pod (superior)
Liked We stayed for almost a week at Scoutscroft Leisure Park in Eyemouth, in Wooden Pod No. 7. The pod was very clean and tidy, and the site itself is in a lovely location close to the village and beach.
Unfortunately, there were several issues that spoiled our stay. On arrival (Sunday) we hoped to eat in the on-site restaurant, but only a limited takeaway menu was available, served in boxes, with many items unavailable. This was disappointing, especially as it was peak holiday season
The biggest problem was that we had no hot water for our entire stay. Despite reporting it early on, communication from staff was poor, with inconsistent explanations and no updates. A simple note, text, or email would have made a huge difference. Having to take cold showers all week, especially with a child, was unacceptable.
The pod mattresses were also extremely uncomfortable, with springs poking through, making it hard to sleep.
Overall, the site has great potential in a beautiful setting, but basic standards like hot water, better communication, and more comfortable beds need urgent attention. If those issues were fixed, I would consider returning.
Toilet and shower block are definitely not too far of a walk like other comments I have seen and they are cleaned daily to a high standard.
Disliked No hot water all week.
Lack of communication
Limit menu and entertainment
Terrible mattress.
I am very aware we only paid £ 15 per night but hot water and a reasonably good mattress is an essential.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed and balanced review. We're really pleased you enjoyed the clean pod, lovely location, and well-maintained facilities—and it’s great to hear the toilet and shower block met your expectations. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the issues you experienced, especially the lack of hot water and poor communication. That’s not the standard we aim for, and we understand how frustrating it must have been—particularly with a child. Your feedback on the restaurant and mattress is also noted and will be passed on to the team. We appreciate your honesty and hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back under better circumstances. – Team Verdant

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)
Liked We stayed here last year and absolutely loved the site, its a great location if you're going to Barry Island/gavin and stacey tour. We brought my parents this time with their motorhome. We originally booked for 4 nights but ended up staying an extra 2 nights. The site has everything you need, a small shop, large toilet and shower block, pot wash room with washing machine and communal freezer and a play park. The staff are all friendly and very helpful.
A 5 minute drive you will find a co-op a large supermarket, cafe, restaurant and takeaways.

Liked We have just returned from a lovely stay at Longfield Farm. This is a basic site but beautifully kept with very nice views. I would definitely recommend and will be returning. The site is situated next to a small farm and my girls loved spending time looking over the wall the the animals.
Disliked I don't have any dislikes but, my only comment is no hot water for washing post.
