Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Very quiet, peaceful location with lots of options for walks straight from the site and a secure dog walking area on the site itself.
Pitches are very large and well spaced.
Excellent communication from the site owner.
Disliked Very much a “work in progress” site which is still in its first season, toilet facilities in particular could do with an upgrade…

From the manager: Sorry for delay and glad your overall stay is good at the labyrinth. I’ve addressed internal gate exiting issue with additional system and installed a Dunny near to pitches. In relation to work in progress it certainly is but I’m Overly pleased that all campers enjoy the off grid experience and woodland surroundings. Safe camping to all users, Rose

Field 1 primitive grass campsite (small)
Liked A very well-looked after and equipped campsite, with everything you need at a site for an enjoyable stay. Excellent communication and friendly staff. Many thoughtful touches like communal fridges and freezers and lots of helpful information provided.
The toilets and showers were spotless every morning, which isn’t surprising when you see the cleaning log on the wall, showing they had been last cleaned at midnight!
Disliked For us, the location wasn’t quite what we hoped for - we like to walk and run from campsites to nearby pubs, usually via footpaths or quiet country lanes.
Unfortunately there are only two options from Myrtle Farm to reach Banwell village: both of them very busy country roads with fast moving traffic, no pavements most of the way, and no public footpaths from the site to the village either.
That meant we drove from the site far more (and walked less) than we usually would. It’s obviously not the site’s fault, but it’s worth bearing in mind if, like us, you like walking or running straight from a campsite.
Hopefully the new Banwell bypass (due for completion in 2027) will help with the traffic volumes around the site. If it does, we’ll be back as it was the only downside for us.

Liked Superb location, excellent pub nearby, good value for money by Lakes standards.
Disliked Only 1 toilet cubicle for men meant a wait at times - even though the site wasn’t full.

Liked Our second visit to one of our favourite sites… As last year, there’s nothing to fault and so much to praise at Happy Days - great peaceful location, friendly owners, wonderfully clean and modern toilets / showers… Woodhall Spa itself is a great place to visit and Happy Days is perfectly situated to make the most of your stay.

Liked There is a bath in the shower block! Park was very quiet on Sunday night. Friendly receptionist waited a few minutes past usual closing time for us to arrive. Walk through to Lowther Castle is lovely. Great base for visiting the area.
Disliked Some of the park’s amenities including the bakery / shop, and the shower block near the touring pitches were closed. The pub wasn’t serving food, also getting into the toilets was a bit tricky as the combination lock wasn’t illuminated…

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Very nice, fairly large site, with very friendly staff and clean, well maintained facilities.
Disliked Although the location is very scenic, there are no footpaths that can be reached to go for a walk, without first surviving a scary 500m rush down a fairly busy road (without a pavement). Slightly busier and noisier at night than most other sites we’ve been to.

Liked Really peaceful little dog-friendly site on a working farm. Staff very friendly, only a handful of pitches. Only 2 minutes walk to railway station (which is then 10 mins to Bridlington with regular trains) and only a mile to walk to Nafferton village which has pubs, a shop and a lovely mere (lake) in the centre.
Disliked Very basic facilities, with the 1 shower and toilet both in the same room meaning you might have to wait for the loo in the morning while someone else is having a shower (happened to us on one of our 2 mornings at the site).

Liked A lovely, peaceful site, with very friendly owners. Small but with everything you need, including toilet / shower block with washing facilities. The owner, Gina, was very welcoming and even offers a breakfast roll delivered to your pitch each morning (extra charge but well worth it). Very dog friendly.
