Liked Liked the fact that we had a water tap close to our pitch....that's all.
Disliked Where to begin...Turned up at site and only person that looked like they might be in charge was there was at the food wagon. When I explained that i had booked on pitch up and had paid already I was instructed to follow the signs to the pitches and park where I wanted and enjoy your stay!!. Well enjoy my stay i did not. I wasn't given any instructions where the toilets or showers were, or the Eleanor and grey waste were. I was not given the gate code as it states on the website. When we pitched up I found out that all the pitches were roughly 300/400 yards from all facilities ( toilet, shower and waste) i had to ferry my toilet cassette and grey waste on the tailgate of my pick up as the road was heavy shingle and difficult to pull waste along. It says on pitch up that the fishing lakes are about 3 minutes from the pitches!!!! But only if you drove your vehicle to them which is not convenient if you come in a motor home. Using a carp barrow is an option but you better be fit. Old Toilet and shower block needs total refit as its the one that has been there years being used by the hundreds of day fishermen that use the lakes. Road noise was constant.

We’re sorry to hear that you found the distance to the toilet & waste facilities inconvenient during your stay. We wanted to take a moment to explain that our campsite is located next to a protected ancient monument, and due to strict archaeological regulations, we are not permitted to dig or construct permanent infrastructure—such as toilet blocks—within certain areas of the site. Preserving this historical land is something we take seriously, and it does affect where facilities can be placed. Our site is primarily aimed at self-sufficient campers, and we make this clear in our site description. While we do offer toilet and shower facilities for those who are not fully self-contained, these are shared with some of our fishing guests, as we have 11 fishing lakes on the 150-acre site, including 3 scenic nature walks one aimed solely for children with an activity trail and activity sheet, a large children’s play area, and our outdoor gym. We strive to create a unique and adventurous environment for families to explore and unwind. We truly appreciate your understanding and your feedback, which helps us continue to improve.

Liked Nice quiet 5 vehicle site. The toilet and shower block were immaculate and the pitches were definitely on the large size. 3 grassed and 2 hardstanding options available. Someone had complained on a previous review that the close vicinity to the railroad crossing was an issue but after the first few trains passing we forget it was there. Went for a weeks fishing and it was great.
Disliked Nothing to dislike...well run little campsite.

Liked Great stay at this wonderfully run campsite. The owners and site warden (liam) couldn't do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Fishing was good and the pitches were immaculate. Showers and toilets were spotless. I have visited many sites in my long camping career and this is by far the best site we have stayed at by far
Disliked There was absolutely nothing that I could find fault with...and I can be very critical if I don't like something

Liked Site was quiet considering that it's a large site. If you enjoy dogs then this is the place to come as there were lots but not pestered with barking. Facilities were excellent and a park warden was always available if you needed help or advice. I had booked a hard standing but a mix up in the booking meant had to make do with grass site but this was not an issue due to the rain holding off over the weekend
Disliked Annoyingly it's always the few irresponsible dog owners who spoil it for others by not picking up behind their dogs and letting them go anywhere around the pitches rather than to the designated dog exercise/walk area. This unfortunately led to a lingering smell of dog urine/faeces

Liked The peace and quiet most of the time (apart from unsupervised children running around the lake and playing in the toilet/ showers). Stunning views of the lake and countryside. Clean facilities, well maintained site. Staff were happy to accommodate me when I asked if I could move pitches to be closer to the lake to fish.
Disliked The fact that there are clear signs in place stating that dogs are not to be walked around the lakes but this is constantly ignored by owners but disappointingly also staff, this results in bins close to the fishing swims being used for dog waste which smell and spoilt the fishing experience. One other small issue is, the swims could be better maintained as overhanging branches restrict casting into the lake from several of the better placed swims.
