Barnard Castle, Co. Durham, England
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Had a great time here it's a small site with great views and in a really good location for walks and exploring which for us included a walk down to Barnard Castle and back across the fields using the rights of way.
Despite the negative feedback from some we found the toilets and shower to be adequate and relatively clean for a campsite.
There is road noise from the A66 but we were expecting that and it didn't bother us particularly.
There were 5 of us across 2 pitches with 2 dogs and we thought it was very well priced compared to most sites that wanted to charge considerably more.
