Location at one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. Turquoise water and breath taking mountains. Anncey is a stunning town.

    Disliked:

This site is quite dated. We arrived for two nights in high season and the place was very busy and congested.

From the manager...

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. Our establishment is above all simple and natural, with a camping spirit. Our establishment is popular because we have direct access to the lake, and during August, it's very busy.
We do our best to ensure your satisfaction.

Best regards

We loved Annecy however the site was very basic, Large toilet roll on the wall and mixture of unisex toilets and showers. In the showers closest to the "beach" the showers just dribbled out, and only 1 x washing machine that services the entire sardine packed pitches. Although you were able to have your dog on site on a lead, no real access to a beach, other than the boat ramp which was very busy, stoney and painful. The water was beautiful, but with 38 deg heat, it was unfair that dogs were unable to cool off!. There were no wooded area's to walk, and the boat ramp was only a couple of minutes walk so a nightmare for our four legged friends. The Bus ran from outside the site into Annecy which was beautiful but stuffy and overcrowded on the way back.

    Disliked:

French that refused to clear up after their dogs, so poo everywhere. Very poor state of the facilities, no soap by the toilet handbasin's, nothing to wipe your hands on, no toilet paper in stalls, open air unisex toilets. Squashed sites that were on top of one another, our outlook was onto the urinals, access to "beach" was almost non existent.

From the manager...

Hello,

Our establishment aims to be simple and natural, above all, in order to preserve the camping spirit.
We have two restroom facilities located at the entrance and on the lake side to serve all pitches.
The urinal spaces are reduced and preserved by a low wall and a thuja hedge on the men's side of each block to ensure everyone's privacy and tranquility, and we are surprised by your feedback.
There are signs that demarcate the men's and women's areas.

One of our blocks was refreshed this year, and ongoing plumbing and water heater work is being done.

Our pitches are between 60m and 80m. August is busiest and friends often join the initial reservations on the same pitch.

It's a shame you didn't come to our reception to give us feedback on your expectations regarding the layout of the municipal beach and dog swimming. The same goes for ensuring that our owners are responsible for the proper behavior of our four-legged friends.
The Greater Annecy area has implemented a bus route to better serve Talloires and facilitate travel to and from Annecy. The buses are normally air-conditioned.

It would have been helpful if your complaints had been forwarded to the town hall for monitoring of public facilities and good civic gestures.

Best regards

Location was good, with direct access to the lake. Local restaurant was lovely but slightly pricey. Reception staff were nice, but a little slow on check out. Local canyoning is well worth doing.

    Disliked:

We thought we had booked / requested Electric but this wasn't available when we arrived. The original pitch we were sent too was occupied, and tiny, and seemed at the end of the site right next to a public car park. After struggling to turn round in our near 7 metre van, we eventually got directed to another pitch that was far more suitable, but in complete shade, so unfortunately our solar wouldn't keep the batteries topped up for 3 days, meaning we had to keep moving the van to sunny spots for the fridge etc to keep going. However where the electric pitches were people were crammed in so tight they had no space at all between each other. The first night the campsite toilet facilities near the beach were disgusting, they are totally open for public use, and the showers and toilets were clearly being used by anyone and everyone. By late evening they were in a terrible state with fecies on the floor & urine everywhere. I do feel sorry for the staff having to clear it up. However with these facilities open for anyone to use it's not great for paying campers. The site itself is also totally open for people to wonder around, and the well used beach carpark path runs alongside the site passed the toilets. This left us feeling a bit uneasy about leaving anything out overnight, and if we went out for the day. Also some old dilapidated caravans dotted around the site, and part of the site cordoned off for 'danger of Asian hornets' I appreciate you can't control nature, but maybe getting someone in to sort the nest out would be a good idea if campers are at risk.

From the manager...

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.
We have shaded and unshaded pitches. It's sometimes difficult to accommodate everyone, but we try as much as possible. Our pitches are between 60 and 80 meters apart, parallel to each other, and busier in August.

The parking inconveniance you mentioned, as well as the disruption sometimes encountered at our toilet block, has already been reported to the town hall. We will be sure to follow up with the mayor again this year.

It's a shame you didn't come directly to our reception to discuss and document these issues. Rest assured that we sometimes carry out checks. However, since the path is a shared road, it's difficult to put up fences.

We have blocked access to a hornet's nest as a safety measure while awaiting the arrival of a professional the next morning.

Please be assured that we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and are committed to ensuring your satisfaction.

We thank you for your understanding.

Best regards

Location to the lake was excellent. Lots of trees so there is some shade over the pitches in the very hot weather. Restaurants and bars on the lake and the grass beach was great for swimming. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bus to the centre of Annecy was €2 and really easy to to get there. The bus also takes you to other local towns and villages with restaurants and shops. You can easily rent paddle boards and kayaks for water sports on the lake. We wish we’d stayed there longer.
