- Quiet and peaceful park with mature trees and plenty of shade
- Three miles from the Yellowstone River and the Terry Badlands
- Convenient setting three quarters of a mile from the I-94
Deep in wild Montana, a quarter of a mile from Interstate I-94, Terry RV Oasis is just what it claims to be: mature trees providing a shady berths in a 60 year old park.
Fresh water comes from the on-site artesian well (it really is an oasis...) and there are ample cleaning/storage areas for hunters and fisherfolk. It's a carefully-kept spot, but relaxed in all the right place: dogs are welcome and barbecues and campfires are permitted.
Your comfy oasis is right on the edge of Terry: a small, andfriendly town that sees visitors aplenty flock here to access the Terry Badlands Wilderness Study Area (WSA). It's well set around these parts too for fishing – and rock hunting – at the Yellowstone River, and for more wild days around the Theodore Roosevelt National Park a couple of hours' drive to the east.
Back at base, Terry has bathrooms for guests' use, as well as charging facilities and a dump station. Barbecues and campfires are allowed.

Local attractions
Local town Terry is also famed for its museum and gallery dedicated to Prairie photographer Evelyn Cameron, who captured the spectacular scenery of the area and the life of the town in busier times. Also worth a visit is the town's Historic Kempton Hotel, incorporating a bookstore and antiques shop in carefully preserved early 1900s décor: ghosts are here too, if you're tired of hunting deer...
The Terry Badlands three miles' drive away is a pristine wilderness, where striking rock formations share the big sky with rolling hills, elk, deer and horned lizards. It's a must for photographers, the light playing on the banded rock formations to make a different picture every minute.
Equally close to Terry RV Oasis is the Yellowstone River, full of fish and a favoured site for rock hunters in search of the rare moss agate.
Further afield, two hours' drive east takes you across state lines and into the Theodore Roosevelt National Park (the wilderness-loving president came out to this part of North Dakota in 1883 to hunt bison). Thanks to Theo, the herds still roam there, while the park's combination of wet woodlands and warm hillsides sustains life of all kinds from wild horses to golden eagles and tiny flycatchers.
Drive two hours west, meanwhile, and you'll be at the Little Bighorn Battlefield, an evocative spot commemorating Lt. Col. Custer's Last Stand. Many travellers continue west towards Red Lodge, joining the Beartooth Highway into the Yellowstone National Park.
