Fancy a few days of sand and salty sea dips? Place oneself at Camping Cambrils Caban, a family-friendly site in Cambrils on the Costa Daurada. Here, not only are you a 20-minute drive from the Catalonia port city of Tarragona, but you're also under 500 metres from the sea. And, very kindly, there's also an outdoor pool (unheated) right on site for hours of leafing through a book and breaking only for some breaststroke or a cocktail. You may feel like royalty here, with plenty on site to keep you busy, entertained and well looked after: there’s a playground for the kids, football, basketball and ping pong for the sporty (and a projector so football fans don’t miss any games) and pétanque for a taste of local pastimes. When food is beckoning, there’s no need to travel too far – there’s a bar-restaurant next to the pool for quick snacks, welcome ice creams, refreshing cocktails and sit-down meals, and an on-site supermarket should have everything needed for evening barbecues. There’s so much to do on site, it’d be easy to never leave, but be sure not to miss out on this gorgeous part of Catalonia. Rent bikes on site for breezy cycles along the coast, or stay close to base with trips into the UNESCO-listed city of Tarragona for history, shops and thrills at theme parks and waterparks. Great spot near the beach & Salou, with friendly staff. Guests loved the pool, clean facilities, and big pitches. A few found washrooms a bit old, noted occasional noise, and low branches for RVs. Manager's improving Wi-Fi, hot water, and waste.

Liked Camping à proximité de tous , 15 min de salou en vélo. Le personnel sont au top , agréable, (accueil, bar/restaurant, agent d'entretiens et les animateur). Les emplacements sont spacieux. La piscine est propre et spacieuse. La propreté des sanitaires.

Disliked Pas assez d'ombrage sur les emplacements tente, manque de machine à laver dispersés dans le camping ( 3 au milieux et quand elles fonctionnent toutes. Pas assez d'activités le soir.
Et les contenaire poubelle qui déborde partout sur le trottoir à 10 mètre de l'emplacement qui viennent vider à n'importe quel heure de la nuit .

Un autre élément à rajouter est l état d insalubrité de la ville alentours, tout est sale et sent mauvais, des déchets partout, certes le camping n est pas responsable mais ça participe tout de même largement à cet avis négatif.

Liked Good facilities, cleaned toilets & showers regularly. Shop had everything you needed essential wise. Also staff in shop very friendly and polite especially one of the men. Pool was good although could have done with some Sumner’s or chairs but appreciate wasn’t much space. A number of traveller families were on site and causing problems and the lifeguard stood up to them and kicked them out of the pool and the staff then kicked them off the site, well done!
We complained about a group who were smoking Canabis near to our pitch and the maintenance team must have spoken to them as they only smoked off site after that.

Disliked The facilities for washing up were good except for one of the sinks near our pitch (118) that could do with an upgrade. Also the water wasn’t working all down our row.
Bins of the road were overflowing and very smelly, appreciate this is probably out of the sites control.

What’s a getaway without some beach time? There’s an excellent sandy stretch of the Costa Dorada just over a five-minute walk from the site for strolls, sandcastles and swims, and a watersports centre is five minutes' drive away for getting out in the water to give paddleboarding, surfing, kayaking and windsurfing a go. To get to grips with everything below the waves, try a diving centre (within walking distance) or keep the water-based activities altogether more controlled with an afternoon (or a whole day) Aquopolis waterpark (15 minutes). If that's got the kids screaming for more, never fear: PortAventura World is a 10-minute drive away. The whole family can get adrenaline spiking on theme park rides, cool off in the waterpark, or (and?) live out car racing dreams at Ferrari Land, less than 15 minutes from the site. Something for the grownups? A full explore of the coastal towns and villages comes highly recommended, with a stop at Tarragona (20 minutes) for a cute Old Town, lots of UNESCO sites, stellar museums and plenty of shopping. Not ready to head home? Celebrate a successful holiday with a tour of the dozen or so vineyards and wineries within an hour.
