General

  • Friendly site overlooking the city of Venice
  • A 15-minute ferry journey to St Mark's Square
  • Marina, bar, restaurant, supermarket and multilingual staff on site

What a very viewsome Venice location has Camping Fusina Tourist Village. For it not only overlooks the city of Venice, it's on the edge of its lagoon and a mere 15-minute ferry ride from St Mark's Square. And it has most easy access to the Brenta Riviera, the Palladian Villas, Padoa and Treviso – well, it was designed and placed (back in 1957) by famous architect Carlo Scarpa, after all…

A bar, restaurant, supermarket and laundry facilities are all on site for your convenience, along with well-maintained showers and toilets. And – a Venice bonus – there's also an on-site marina with all boating facilities including lifts, ramps and moorings for all types of craft.

You'll find lots to do in the surrounding locale, but if you need some inspiration, have a word with the friendly, helpful and multilingual Camping Fusina team who can point you in the right direction.

Please note

Group bookings of 25 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Dogs are not allowed in the on-site accommodations.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Fusina Camping is a very convenient location if you want to visit Venice but are travelling in a motorhome. Driving towards Fusina was not pleasant - you drive past a very large industrial site and we seriously wondered where we were heading. However, it turned out the site was away from the industrial zone on the edge of the lagoon and offered well designed with plenty of pitches in the shade as well as some on the edge of the lagoon.

Bathroom facilities were good, clean and warm and washing up facilities were excellent. It was a bit bizarre to find ourselves right by the shipping lane and watch large containerships drift past, but we found it to be quirky rather than a problem.
The site also offers a restaurant, a bar and a small shop.

The best thing about Fusina (apart from the nice pitch) was the fact that the ferry goes from Fusina straight to Venice Zattera - which is a short walk from all the grand canal and links to other parts of the city. Really convenient - the ferry leaves Fusina once an hour for a round trip (25 minutes out - 25 minutes back) and the last ferry returns just before midnight, so plenty of time to have a relaxed dinner before heading back to the motorhome.

Staff at the reception desk were really welcoming, friendly and helpful.

    Disliked:

We had a less than good experience when trying to have lunch in the restaurant on the day of our arrival, which appeared to close early. Although they offered us some heated up lasagna, our main problem was with the restaurant staff who were disinterested. Given that there is literally nothing else in the entire area, this was not a great service.

The shop was reasonably well stocked but had run out of several fresh products.

Perfect site for visiting Venice, but not great for relaxing on site. 08/22/2017

View over Venice and location, ferry on the doorstep, on site facilities very useful and modern, good pizzas and bar. Useful shop but expensive.

    Disliked:

Mosquitos in the showers and toilets because they have open doors. No obvious pitches and therefore not enough electric hook points for the size of the site. You need a very long cable to pitch where you want. No hand soap in the toilets. Strong tent pegs needed.

Local attractions

Most folk staying at Camping Fusina Tourist Village quite rightly come to view fab Venice – its Grand Canal, its art and architecture and its Piazza San Marco among many more – and its islands such as Murano, Burano, Torcello and Lido. The entire city as well as its lagoon are a World Heritage Site, so lace up your comfy shoes and prepare for lots of sightseeing.

Also famed in the region are the 200 or so Palladian Villas of the Riviera del Brenta/Brenta Riviera, once homes of the Venetian aristocracy who built their villas along the waterfront: book a Burchiello boat tour to see them between March and October.

And… one could stay here for weeks what with the many more things to see and do in and around Venezia, but if you're pushed for time, recommended options nearby include Padoa and Treviso, both a 20-minute drive away; and the town of Abano Terme ten kilometres south west of Padua, known Europe-wide for its hot springs and mud baths.
