It's free, quick and easy!
- Holiday homes at the crossroads of the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne
- Under five minutes' drive from Marminiac and 30 from Puy-l'Évêque
- Summer pool, games room, playground and lodge terraces
To the Lot! And the Dordogne… for Les Hameaux de Pomette is cleverly set at the crossroads of the Lot-et-Garonne and the Dordogne regions, both lush locales stuffed with tasty produce, comely medieval villages, green countryside and two mighty rivers (called the Lot and the Dordogne, oddly enough) at which to canoe, paddle, fish or meander alongside by foot or bike.
Les Hameaux de Pomette is under five minutes' drive from the small village of Marminiac in the Midi-Pyrénées, within easy reach of both rivers, and half an hour from the medieval town of Puy-l'Évêque in the Cahors wine region. Access the Veloroute near here too, for peaceful rides around the Lot valley and the Cahors vineyards, or pedal about 22 kilometres north west for the prehistoric caves of Cougnac, set subterraneanly just outside Payrignac.
You'll be lounging around in a comfy lodge when retiring peacefully after all that, set on grass against a backdrop of surrounding trees. Each lodge has a terrace for alfresco eats or sunset watching (or sunrise, should you be so hardy), and all have a kitchen corner, outdoor furniture and a barbecue.
For those days when you want to lounge on site around from morn to night, Les Hameaux de Pomette has a heated summer pool, a pétanque court, table tennis and a games room to keep you occupied in and out of the water, and a playground to entertain the kids. Free wifi is available at reception.
Bread and pastries are available to order in July and August.

Local attractions
A short drive will take you to several historic and famed sights for day trips; more actively, hiking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, tree climbing and horse riding are all available nearby.
You can cycle for about an hour and a half to reach the old town of Puy l'Évêque, but you might prefer to drive instead as this is a pretty place at which to pick up the Lot valley Veloroute, the 160-kilometre bike path winding around the valley and the Cahors vineyards. Or pedal to town then take a bus through the countryside and along the Lot river to end up at Cahors and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pont Valentre.
The Hameaux de Pomette team also recommends urban sightseeing at Gourdon, within 20 minutes' drive, Belvès, half an hour away, Domme (35 minutes), and Sarlat and Cadouin, both within 50 minutes.
