No need to make any big decisions when you stay at Camping Onlycamp de L’Argenté, for this family-friendly site is tucked into a peaceful, leafy corner of the Gers, and only five minutes’ drive from the centre of Condom, giving you the best of urban and rural worlds. Set on the banks of the river Baïse, the site is laid out with neat hedges and trees providing shade. About the place, you’ll come across thoughtful amenities like a library, playground and ping-pong tables for kids. Once you’ve settled in, make reception your next stop for information about the Gers region; there are heritage sites within a 20-minute drive of the site. A small grocery store – where you can also get a caffeine kick and keep the kids happy with a constant supply of ice creams – is stocked with the basics if you’re looking to get the barbecue going. When you’re looking for some sporty-type fun locally, head for the Aqualudique Leisure Centre Condom (five minutes’ walk, with discounted rates for campsite guests) to make the most of the three swimming pools, water slides and whirlpools. To up the activity levels, Base de Loisirs de Gauge (15 minutes) has a mini-golf course, rollerblading or skateboarding park and a football field.

Liked Condom is a hidden gem, very pretty & well preserved with some lovely cafes and restaurants and a smashing municipal pool/lido 5 minutes walk from the campsite (not heated and no sun beds - take towels and a picnic blanket or camping chairs). There’s a Lidl and a huge bakery a 2 minute drive away and a couple of greengrocers, butchers and bakeries in the town centre.
We ate at the gorgeous restaurant that backs onto the campsite and overlooks the most picturesque lock on the river; they have a kitchen garden and chatty chickens you can hear across the campsite. I can highly recommend the food; we ate possibly the best meal in France that we’ve had for years, 3 courses for €30 and €20 for wine. Absolute bargain.
The campsite is fantastic; a lovely, friendly couple run it and are extremely helpful as well as speaking fluent English. The pitches are private and a good size, very green and shady across the site. Water taps are a 10 second walk from every pitch. The showers, loos and separate sinks are immaculate, as is the laundry room and washing up room.
It’s a small site but tidy and well taken care of and only a 15 minute meander along a shady riverside path into the small town centre. We stayed 2 nights as a stopover on the way to the south coast, and we wished we’d stayed another night.

The little water park next door was superb and free access for anyone staying at the campsite - only a 5 min walk.
Quiet and lovely big pitches under trees
Very friendly staff
Very safe for little ones
Great location to explore the city with a lovely riverside walk - 20mins

Disliked -Not dislikes but worth noting: no check- in option past 7pm
- No toilet roll provided

Liked Very friendly and helpful welcome, a good generous pitch size, excellent facilities and a good location. Very quiet but close to the town and supermarket. Also within easy walking distance to a nice little restaurant, Moulin de Petit Gascon!

Liked Friendly, good showers, nice walk into city, large pitch with 10a electric, boulangerie on site each morning, very cheap only £15 per night (camper van and 2 adults).
Nice looking restaurant a couple of minutes walk from site. Didn't try it but looked good.

Disliked There was toilet roll provided but the dispenser was outside the stalls. Had to remember or take your own!

A trip to historic Condom (five minutes’ drive) will likely take in the ornate Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, its (mostly) Gothic-style architecture and vivid 19th-century stained-glass windows – don’t miss the statue of D’Artagnan and The Three Musketeers outside. The next stop might be the medieval houses on Place du Lion d’Or, a browse through elegant boutiques or a coffee in a pavement café. For days out in more countrified surroundings, hit the Sentier de la Baïse (less than five minutes’ walk) as it wends its way from Condom to Valence-sur-Baïse (two hours), or stroll along the banks of the canalised Petite Baïse for a picnic while watching barges coming through the Écluse Double de Graziac lock (an hour and 15 minutes). The medieval Abbaye de Flaran is open for tours of its refectory, dormitory and abbey house, as well as ambles in its leafy grounds, and if you’ve got kids with you, you’ll probably end up at La Ferme en Scène (both 10 minutes’ drive) for pony rides and cuddles with bunny rabbits.
