What customers say
Reviewers rave about this campsite's prime location, welcoming hosts, and spotless facilities. Guests love the roomy pitches, private composting toilets, and handy extras like phone chargers and an honesty shop. Breakfast and local cider are definite hits! One reviewer did mention occasional lukewarm shower water and could have used a more thorough clean in that spot.

Lovely, friendly campsite. Fabulous facilities, highly recommend.
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Just got home from a lovely six night stay at Ffynondewwi.
An Eco friendly site with exceptional facilities and extras such as a sheltered kitchen with kettles, freezers and washing up area. This was amazing as we forgot to pack our camping kettle. There is also a mobile phone charging station which was very handy.
There are only 15 pitches which were huge! We hardly heard the neighbouring tents or much noise at all after dark.
Fabulous extras included a shop ran and supplied by the owners home made produce such as award winning cider, honey from their own hives, elderflower cordial and most importantly hit breakfast barms, croissants etc brought to our tent in the morning. This was exceptional.
They have gluten free options too which I found were the nicest gluten free bread rolls I have every had.
There are two shower/ toilet cubicles and each pitch has its own compostable toilet.
The site owners were absolutely lovely and were around to help with anything we needed. Even gave us a pitch next to my sisters family on request.
The location was excellent. There is a large Nisa Extra just 15 minutes drive away in St David's which stocked everything you would need. Including lots of gluten free options.
Alternatively there is a retail park 25 minutes drive away which includes, Lidl, Morrisons, next, Costa, m&S, mountain Warehouse, home Bargains etc.
We highly recommend White sands beach at St David's. 10-15 mins drive away. Clear waters, beautiful sand, cafe, toilets etc. perfect for water sport fans too.
Other places we visited locally were, Solva, Blue Lagoon, Newgale beach, Porthgale, and Scholton Manor (Woodland Walks- Fabulous for children)
We highly recommend this lovely campsite.

From the manager: Ahh Gemma Thanks for your lovely review we are over the moon that you enjoyed our campsite. Our longer term intentions are to make our pitches even more expansive as we plan to move some of our pitches into the orchard and start planting and breaking up the existing camping field even further.
The GF rolls are OAF white super softie sub rolls, which are available in Tesco.
It was lovely to have you all to stay and hopefully we will see you again sometime.
Best wishes

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Well spaced pitches, super friendly owners Luci and Gareth.
Cider, beer, pop and milk all available.
Lots of focus on recycling, good area and facilities for washing up.
Composting toilet by each pitch was a novel idea.
Disliked The hot water for the showers was intermittent, if it was being used elsewhere. The two shower rooms were good, but needed a deep clean.

From the manager: Thanks for your review.
Unfortunately we have been suffering from particularly low water pressure all summer which means that when other taps are opened anywhere across our whole site our shower block pump doesn't refill as quickly as it should which affects our pump.
We have plans for next year which will prevent this happening in future.
Superb family campsite!
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Superb 7 day camping holiday. Location is perfect. Such a peaceful site, and its only mere minutes from a number of local hamlets, which all tie in well with the breathtaking coastal path, amenities and must-visit places. Facilities are clean and ample, with any bottleneck shower queues being extremely rare and minimal. With an en suite toilet on pitch, flushing toilets available at the central hut, warm showers, communal freezers, kettles and washing up facilities, its easy to forget you're even camping. Pitches are extremely spacious with plenty of room for kids to play and theres additionally ample communal space in the center of the site, away from other pitches. Well tended land with campfire provisions - A must for camping! Theres a variety of ciders readily available, breakfast cooked with tent service (yes, like table service), and Gareth (the owner/host) can't do enough for you. I'm not one to do the same place twice, but for here, I'm seriously considering making an exception! Absolutely fabulous. Thank you.

Peaceful site with fantastic breakfast available
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely peaceful site. Large plots for camping, though an intimate site. Personal compost toilets for each pitch were a great idea. Friendly owners. Fantastic tasty breakfasts available - including veggie and gluten free options. Their own cider was also available throughout the day. Really enjoyed our stay

From the manager: So glad you guys enjoyed your stay with us our longer term plan is to make the site far more extensive. We will soon be moving six of our pitches up into the orchard so we can break up the pitches with planting in the existing camping field.

New Favourite Camping Site!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Ready for a proper real review… honestly it’s been a long time since I found a site that was this good!
We came across Gareth’s site on a whim and we were torn between Ffynnonddewi and a site just up from Newgale Beach on the roadside (you’ll see it on the left driving down to Newgale and thank yourself for booking Ffynnonddewi!).
We’re so glad we booked here, it genuinely made our holiday having a great location to call our base/home for a few days. If you’re after somewhere that is quiet, has friendly hosts, great facilities, but near enough to everything in Pembrokeshire then you have to book here.
So let’s talk about the facilities, and trust me you’ll take some of this for granted. Having your own composting toilet (that never once produced an ounce of odour!) on the pitch is a complete luxury we didn’t know we needed. The main shower and toilet blocks are also brilliant, and the water is hot! There is also a washing up area with kettle, so you can make sure your pots stay clean and have access to boiling water without messing about with gas cans and camping kettles. You can purchase drinks (soft and alcohol) from the on-site fridge as well as wood for camp fires. There’s an honesty payment system in place which I found it easiest to text Gareth what I’d taken and then pay up by card as I left.
Now you could include this in facilities but the breakfast needs its own shout out. Every morning Gareth is on hand to provide breakfast baguettes or baps (including options for vegetarians and vegans) and the quality of the food is outstanding. Real highlight and memory of the trip for us having access to this every morning!
The good to knows - BBQs and camp fires are allowed on site! Gareth can provide fire pits upon request so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. Just be sensible and use the pits provided, and don’t go rogue with a fire on the ground.
For pitch sizes, we were able to put our full size SUV with an XL roof tent on the pitch with loads of room to spare either side of the car. We also saw other pitches with camper vans, and 4-6 man tents, so they’re plenty big enough.
In the local area there is loads of places to visit, but one particular seaside hamlet you have to visit is Porthgain. It’s an absolute gem! And make sure to get some fish and chips from The Shed, hands down the best I’ve had in years!
The immediate surrounding fields are very walkable and dog friendly, just make sure to keep them on leads if you venture into a farmers field. It’s so remote that at night you don’t need to worry about light pollution, and if you stay up late enough on a clear night you can see the Milky Way.
And can’t forget about the hosts… best site hosts we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Gareth is always on hand to help and very friendly. Again another highlight of the trip for us having such great hosts!
We had such a great time that we’ve already booked again for this year and we’re planning when to go in 2027 as well!
Disliked Nothing to dislike so I’ll give the top tips instead here:
Composting toilet is outside in a field, of course there’s going to be spiders. Just take a head torch at night and brush them away if needed.
The shower/toilet block can get hot on a warm summers day, so have a shower first thing or in the evening. Also dry robes and sandals/crocs are a good shout if you want to be quick in-and-out.
