  • Pods for a family of four, with kitchen, barbecue and private hot tub
Camping pods in Carmarthenshire – and how pretty (and well-priced) they are too. West Wales Camping Pods is a small, friendly and most welcoming site on a working farm, with pods sleeping up to two adults and two children (in a double bed and two camp beds), on an area of roughly four by six metres for each pitch. Each very well-kept and clean pod has its own adjacent car parking space, a table and chairs, a patio with a barbecue chiminea, heating, and a little kitchen area with a small fridge, a kettle and crockery. And while all of this is most handy, the highlight is still to come – because outside on the decking area each pod has its own private hot tub for up to four people. Facilities are sorted in the shower pod which has a basin, shower and loo. And as it's a working farm, there are plenty of animals around for little podders to see. Off site, West Wales Camping Pods is on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border and about 10 miles from the coast at Amroth.

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked It was our second time staying here. It’s so quiet and relaxing as it’s just surrounded with fields and horses. Also only a 30 minute ish drive into Tenby. The pods are nice and cosy, with a small fridge and table and chairs. Hot tub is really good! Also field in front of the 4 pods is really good for the kids to play on. There is a communal kitchen which is really handy- we only used it to wash dishes and make
Toast. There are barbecues under a shelter that can be used so we put one outside our pod area for our stay and it was great- used it for every meal! Picnic bench outside the pod is handy for eating meals. We took our own camping chairs this time as we remembered from last time that theres no outdoor seating provided other than the picnic bench so that was perfect for us. Carrie is lovely and helpful. It’s a lush site and we will definitely visit again😊

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked Beautiful site with outstanding views.
On arrival, our pod was clean and tidy. The hot tub was ready so that we could get straight in.
We had our own bathroom with a shower in. There was a converted caravan kitchen for everyone on the site to use. Each pod had its own cupboard with cooking equipment in.
The place was so peaceful.
We had only booked to stay on the Friday night, but we enjoyed so much that we met with Josie on the Saturday morning and decided to stay another night.
We lit our fire and had a relaxing Saturday evening. We were sad to leave, so we will definitely be returning soon!

Disliked There was nothing to dislike about the place.

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked Beautiful scenery. Everything was clean. The owner saw us on arrival and was very friendly.

Disliked Only grumble really which is minor was our bench outside wasn't fit for purpose and was pretty much falling apart. We sat on the chairs provided in the hut so wasn't a big deal. All the other pods had working benches and tables. We were just unlucky. Also worth mentioning that the double bed is a small double so not ideal if you are on the larger side like us. 🤣.

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked Me and my two children stayed at the pod for 2 nights and we could not like it more!
We have come to a decision that this was our best staycation! The pod as well as bathroom and kitchen was very clean, spacious and cosy! The hot tub was a spot on and we absolutely loved it! The views from the pod/hot tub are exceptional. We have experienced such a relaxing time and the best sunsets and sunrises here.
The location is very rural which I prefer. Hosts are very friendly and sent all the information needed before arrival. I am already planning my next visit xx

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked Stayed for 4 nights with my three boys aged between 9 and 20 and our dog. Received a text from Carrie and Josie on the afternoon of our arrival giving us check in details, pod number etc.
Glamping made really easy as tea and coffee provided in the pod and all washing up essentials also available in the pod or the communal kitchen.
Lovely to have our own bathroom where we could unpack toiletries etc and leave them there for the duration of our stay.
The one thing I forgot to pack was a hairdryer, so will remember this next time.
Pretty much in the middle of nowhere, which is wonderful as a retreat to unwind and recharge.
The hot tub was constantly on, which meant it was available for use whenever we wanted to go in. There was a note saying this would be cleaned each day around 11am.
In the evening we lit a fire in the fire pit - the wood is not provided, but was easily sourced from Tesco’s in Carmarthen.
During our stay we visited Llansteffan beach and castle, Abergorlech for walking and mountain bike riding and a day in Tenby.
Really enjoyed our stay, had great family time in what I would describe as rustic glamping.

Camping pod (hot tub, Private restroom amenities)

Liked There’s nothing not to like! We were so pleasantly surprised with the welcome we received, the pods were spotlessly clean & contained a fridge, cutlery, kettle, tea towel, washing up bowl, teabags. You also get your own private shower room & toilet which was again, spotless. The hot tub was perfect, the views are insane! A little piece of heaven.

Disliked There’s nothing to dislike about this place! Apart from having to leave 😊

Local attractions

There's plenty to do in west Wales, particularly around its fine sandy beaches: too many to mention, but Wiseman's Bridge, Saundersfoot and Coppet are all popular stops. And the Carmarthenshire section of the Wales Coastal Path is very much worth a look, as is utterly beaut Carmarthen Bay. A fair bit of family fun is around too, at Oakwood Theme Park, the Blue Lagoon Waterpark, Heatherton World of Adventures and Folly Farm, while all ages should like flowing along for a look at the cascades of Cenarth Falls. See also the peaks and prehistoric trails of the nearby Preseli mountains just over the border in Pembrokeshire, and take a trip around the town of Narberth to have a poke around its shops, art galleries and the Narberth Museum.
