Guests on site

  • Cosy adults-only site with mountain views in the Brecon Beacons
  • Just off the A4069, 25 minutes’ drive from Dinefwr and Llandeilo
  • In a Dark Sky Reserve with firepits provided; café-bar on site
If the thought of a break within driving distance of waterfalls, castles and gold mines makes you go starry-eyed, Cosmos Camping might be your missing jigsaw piece. This cosy over-16s-only site is just the place to rocket into the Brecon Beacons National Park. It's just off the epic A4069 (packed with dramatic climbs and mountain views), 25 minutes’ drive from Dinefwr and 35 minutes from the National Showcaves Centre for Wales. You’ll really get to look to the cosmos here too, as Alex and Bob (the new owners) have named the site for its location in a Dark Sky Reserve. Each pitch has a firepit (with logs available to buy on site) where you can keep warm while you catch the constellations, Milky Way and nebulas (when skies are clear). With views over the Black Mountains, it’s no surprise that walks are the real deal around here – and your dog can come too, as they’re permitted under close control (due to livestock). If that feels too strenuous, the pond and river are top picnic spots to watch wildlife in action – perhaps red kites overhead or bats in the wooded area at sunset. Come mealtimes, you’ll have use of the site’s communal kitchen facilities, including dishwashing sinks, hot water, a microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer, drying rack, 10-port USB charging station and emergency tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There is also a café-bar on site. The bathroom has hand sanitisers, flushing toilets and two shower rooms with hot electric showers and sinks. It’s tents only on the spaced-out pitches, but there’s a car park at the base of the field and garden trolleys for transporting your gear.

What customers say

This adult-only site offers superb, modern amenities like spotless washrooms and a great communal kitchen. Nestled by the Black Mountains, enjoy spacious, private sites with fire pits for peaceful stargazing. Guests rave about the friendly owners, Alex and Bob, and the on-site horsebox bar. A car is advised for exploring, but the site's cleanliness, thoughtful touches, and beautiful setting make it a top pick for a relaxing getaway.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked First of all: real friendly owner - Alex and Bob, thank you,
fantastic landscape, quiet, awsome fully-licensed horse-trailer-bar 😉!
Facilities in best condition, having a fridge is wunderful.
The distances between each other and the sizes of the tent spaces is great.
Transport carts!

Disliked Some guest doesn‘t know - or their can‘t read, ignorant?
„Please note, quiet times are between 21.30pm and 08.00am.“
„Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.“

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The peace, no children, the space due to limited pitches allowed, the facilities super clean and maintained, they are the best ive seen camping (hairdryers available woohoo!) Owners are super friendlyand have made all information about the local area accessable and clear. It's just perfect.
Horse box bar, gazebo with firepit for evening drinks. Just wonderful.
Gorgeous walks nearby, from short strolls to longer yomps which are a short car drive away.
Only thing I'd add is to bring your own food if you dont want to travel for tea and breakfast.

Disliked Having to go home :(
