Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Terry and Jane were very welcoming on arrival and very helpful, explaining the rules of the campsite, all the facilities and where to go in the local area. Terry was super helpful in providing us with a hose pipe to fill up our camper as we didn’t have one!
The site is very cheap and located in a fantastic location that over looks the mountain range with two fields to choose from. Dogs are welcome and signs up saying they must be kept on leads but they were happy for well behaved dogs to be off lead proving we kept and eye on them and cleaned up and mess which we did. The campsite is very relaxed and a great place to chill and unwind. We spent 2 nights here but wish we stayed longer.
Fantastic beach and Forrest walks nearby.
Nice clean hot showers on site and a great little shed where you can charge your phone, make a hot drink and warm up food in the microwave! Perfect stay. We highly recommend to other guests!

Disliked Nothing that we didn’t dislike!

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Additional facilities and warm welcome.

Disliked Limited use as the site is only open for one month of the year. We would like to return in Easter and they are only open through August.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Relaxed family feel, loads of space, free of charge fire pits, friendly owners who you get to know, fantastic mountain views and beach nearby. Communal fridge, freezer store with usb charge points (labels to hand too) toys and play area for the kiddies. Lovely text from Jane and Terry the morning before we stayed with specific directions and things to look out for to locate the site. Homegrown apples free to help yourself

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Facilities were great. Pitch in the bigger field had an incredible view with plenty of space for everyone, we didn’t feel enclosed at all. Terry and Jane were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The 40 min walk to Newborough beach was lovely. Free WiFi was available, however we didn’t use it ourselves.

Local attractions

If you only see one attraction on Anglesey it really must be Ynys Llanddwyn, the little rocky outcrop named after the Welsh patron saint of lovers. The best way to get there from the site is to head out on foot, walking to the lighthouse and ruined chapel through the Newborough Forest. Pack a picnic to scoff on next-door Newborough beach, and perhaps bring binoculars in case any seals are swimming in the area. Should you have a bit longer (and really you should), there’s plenty more to keep you busy around the island. Family days out include pony rides and animal feeding frenzies at Foel Farm (10 minutes’ drive), getting to know the sea-dwelling critters at Anglesey Sea Zoo (10 minutes) and viewing the vintage vehicles at Tacla Taid Anglesey Transport Museum (five minutes). If you’ve a head for history, take days out at Beaumaris Castle (25 minutes), Plas Newydd House and Gardens (15 minutes) or the ruins of Aberlleiniog Castle (half an hour), or scooch back over to the mainland to the castles in Caernarfon (25 minutes), Conwy (35 minutes) and Criccieth (50 minutes).
