  • Dog-friendly site on a working farm in Rhos on Sea
  • A 25-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Llandudno
  • Surrounded by country walks and a short walk from pubs and a shop
Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely site on a working farm. Pitches are large and well laid out in the electric field where we were. With large fields across a track for tents and campers who don’t want electric. These seem to be pitch as you like with no laid out pitches. Wonderful night sleep with the no noise after 11pm curfew well observed. 10min drive into Llandudno, and a Co-Op store 10min walk from the site. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful.

Disliked Not a dislike as such, more observations. No pot washing area. Toilets are ok but could do with an update.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Just pitched for one night (tent). Lots of space in the field, toilets clean, didn’t try showers (don’t judge me!). It’s a really quiet, peaceful slot. Bus at the end of the road takes you into Llandudno or the other way. Cutes horses in the adjoining field. So cheap!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Spacious field. Although seemed like we were very popular as everyone kept pitching next to us. This giving us very little privacy. The huge field was almost empty. So please campers give people a bit of consideration when finding your pitch. I wouldn't mind normally but don't understand why people do this. Otherwise a lovely stay. Nice views.

Disliked This is a working farm plenty of animals about which is lovely. The facilities were extremely dated. Toilets were a long walk from pitches. Showers were cold no heating. Toilets were very old. Clean enough. But for the price of pitch I think most people would expect better, more modern facilities. Bins overflowing and seagulls ripping bags open.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The site was good with plenty of space, the bar/food area was good and staff friendly - we enjoyed the Pizza

Disliked The welcome could have been better - my wife was asked for ID before we could enter the site and I was asked for £5 in cash as a deposit for the toilet/shower facility - we found out in the morning on collecting the £5 back in exchange for the card - the whole process wasn’t necessary

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Nice open space with firm ground, my motorhome weighs 13 tons so very happy with that. The price per night is unbeatable, £10.00 per night for single occupancy. I didn’t use the toilet block, so I can’t comment.

Disliked Nothing I didn’t like.

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Hardstanding pitches are generous size with pay as you need electric via a metre. 2 large size grass fields for pitching on with no size restrictions or marked out pitches. Basic toilet and showers and it is a working farm so expect everything that comes with that. Bus stop at end of road with really good bus service. Easy 15 min or so stroll to a dog friendly beach where u can let dogs off lead

Disliked Nothing

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
