  • Dog-friendly site on a working farm in Rhos on Sea
  • A 25-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Llandudno
  • Surrounded by country walks and a short walk from pubs and a shop
Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

What customers say

This large farm campsite has spacious spots in a lovely rural setting, with friendly staff and easy access to Llandudno and local beaches. Facilities are basic but clean. Expect potential weekend crowds and noise, with spotty WiFi. Good value overall.

Liked Nice hot showers, toilets and showers aren't modern but are clean, laundry room with 2 sinks to wash dishes, play area, cows and horses on the farm, large site with 3 fields to choose from, shop couple of minutes drive up the road, beach within walking distance, llandudno pier 10 minute drive away, really lovely campsite we are already planning on returning.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Location was lovely. Staff were friendly over the phone
Bus stop at the end of the road that takes you to Llandudno, which was good

Disliked The facilities weren't clean. They were very dated, but I wasn't too bothered by that, however by Sunday they were absolutely filthy

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Level hard standing pitch, convenient location for onward travel, plenty of toilets and showers on a working farm

Disliked This is a large site and quite expensive. The toilets and showers were a little tired and don’t appear to have any of the revenue invested back into the site

Liked The location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The perfect base for travelling to and from Llandudno seafront, and the views are amazing

Disliked If I'm being super picky, the toilet facilities are dated, but other than that, the campsite was perfect for what we needed

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The space the kids had to run around and enjoy themselves playing. The friendly welcoming by staff upon arrival.

This is our 2nd stay at Dinarth in 2 years. We come to Conwy as a family get together each year at the same time of the year in August. We shall be coming back next year for definite. Next year we shall be booking the electrical pitch though well in advance. Thank you for a joyful stay and see you in August 26!

Would recommend this site. Cheap and in a good location, calming and for you (astronomers) good for stargazing on a clear night!

Disliked Showers blocks and toilet blocks could do with a little updating.

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
